Not sure about the controls but you should be able to change out the knob real easily. What do you have and what do you want to change to?
-
U can get it done for free at most parts stores. I bought one 4 30 bucks from harbor freight tools that works just fine.
-
When I soldered my terminals, the solder kept on wicking into the wire itself then about an inch of wire was stiff in the jacket.
That happens to me when the wire itself gets too hot. Less heat on the wire more on the solder. It takes a while to get it right. I have plenty of wire around like that.

Do a load test or have a load test done on the whole charging system. Sounds to me like the alt or regulator. I wouldn't rule out the battery either

So I'm starting up a build tomorrow, putting in a 12" LCD into my dash and i guess I'll make my way down to Tap plastics to get some supplys. Any certin resin and filler I should get to mold to my dash?
The other thing I want to do is smooth out the texture on the dash and paint it up. should I sand down what's there or should I spot fill it then sand it down?
Also whats going to hold up to the bass shaking the shyte out of everything?
let me know what will make my life a little easier, Thanks, Bill

wouldn you get more value for the car if you sold it.
Hell yeah. Only if you can find someone to buy it.
-
Well here's the deal. My wife and I like to be car payment poor so this ain't our first rodeo.
Take what you owe on the car you have now. Then minus - example 20000
What it is worth I.E. carmax, KBB, trade in. etc. and 15000
That will give you what you have plus or minus for your next car. -5000
If you still owe more then it's worth then it will be added onto your next car. Price of car plus trade in
Try to seperate the sale of the car and the purchase of the new car as 2 deals. NEVER talk about payments!!!
Always get the final price of the car and the final amount they will give you on trade in BEFORE talking about payments or rate.
I have found that Carmax will give you a little more then any other dealer because they will have a better idea of what they can get for it at the wholesale market also known as the auto exchange in the biz.
If you can, talk to internet salesman or someone in fleet. Internet guys usally has some deals that the other guys don't get to get people in the door. Fleet guys sell on numbers not commision. So they can cut killer deals to get their number of cars of the month.
It's best to narrow down exactly what you want before talking sale with the guy. Do your homework, know the car you want, know what options, what years what trim lines. These guys selling don't know a damn thing but will tell you whatever you want to hear.
TRUST me i've been looking for a second Excursion for 4 months now. I've heard some dumbass people tell me all about a truck that I already have like i've never seen one before :-
-
Do you ever have people back there? Sometimes it's nice to have rear fill. I wouldn't go and spend a ton of money back there
-
When I had my Alpine 901 And when I was loud, 150+ it didn't skip. Now I get the lovely glow of my factory deck back. It doesn't skip either cause it's a tape :^

how bout the Ford GT 500? I got to sit in one of those and damn did it feel good
The 7 series is also nice. I'm tring to convince the wife to go with that but she wants an X5. One of the two will be in the driveway this year
-
What is your overall space you have to work with? HxWxD i had a 97 xploder and I don't recall having that much room back there.
-
-
soon. It's going to take a few checks to cover my ride, but in the long run it will be worth it. Even with the 5ft width I will still have some left over I can't use so it sucks.
-
I love the 20% I have now and the silver seems to keep the cops off my ass for the most part over the black I have on the wife's truck
-
Yeah you can, I was thinking the silver would kill 2 birds with 1 stone but it won't go as dark as I want to tint the windows. I'm looking for 20%. the best they can do is 60%
-
but you do know the info on the silver? because im mainly looking at the silver
Yep, Almost double that price for the silver that is a 60%. I'll tint over it for that price
-
I ran 2 of the HK's very nice amps if you can get the power to them.
-
Ok so here's the deal.... 1st off let me say that if your not good, wait, Very good with tint you might want to stay away from the DIY project.
This is a 3ply system in one piece so install will be really tricky as you can't use some of the same tricks that you would use on regular tint. It's also very heavy for a tint. It's like tinting with wet cardboard.
The cost break down is $30.00 a square foot. For the clear. I don't want to get into the pricing for the silver.
The roll comes in a 60" width by however long you need it. If you want pricing, for your car give me the size of each window in inches, (height and width) so we can decide how much you need.
It will be a few weeks b4 I can come up with the dougth so you have time to decide on if this is for you or not. That price is just for the lami not the install for which I don't want to do unless you $ really $ want me too.
Please post on here so I can get an idea on who all wants in.
Thanks, Bill

Well at least it's the same maker so that should help. My advise to you is to hit up a dearership and make friends with the parts guy. also I would look at a repair book for both cars and double check the electrical wiring breakdown for both. with a little work and some time I don't see why you couldn't change them out. Good choice on the new ones :^
