  1. Yep the wife went from " I just want a little beat to, 8K watts and a semi wall" The thing is that you won't be able to sell your friends on that $700 sub but you can sell $100 subs to them all day. Same goes for amps. Not many people can call a system with 2 T4's and 2 RE MT's a starter system. But if your really into it, tou can get stupid loud on cheap gear. You just got to work hard at doing it.

  2. Another thing that helps is friends. Take the knowledge you have and people around you and build a badass system with cheaper parts. Then sell your cheaper systems to your friends. Each time you make a little and upgrade as you go. I always try to be on the  ;) Cutting edge  ;) with my systems and when I upgrade, friends always want what I got. helps to use brands that they haven't heard of too.

  3. Common chamber is easier and will save you valuable air space when running that many subs. If BBP doesn't like you using that many subs (as it doesn't for me) then work it out in a smaller group or one by it's self then add for the rest. with a wall, depending on what kind of car it's going in, you might be limited on how much space is left for the port. I have 16-12's and have very little room for a port.

  4. I'm not sure if the 12's or 15's would Kill your deck, it might shorten it's life.

As far as setup theres a thousand different ways you could go and everyone has a different idea of what they think is best.

Depending on what you are looking for and what kind of budget you have, I'm sure you could get a few good ideas off of this site.

  5. I want to compete next year and have all the hookup on equipment for the most part. You guys can give me any suggestions you want as far as equipment, I havn't decided on subs yet, so input is all good.

Basically I want to run my existing truck it is an extended cab 3 door 1999 chevrolet silverado new body style, Can I run this and just lose the back seat? Or get a new vehicle? If so which vehicle?

I think I remember reading in the rules of USACI (any event) that the subs had to be under the back seat, because that was considered the cargo area? Is this correct? If I am just stupid, could someone point me in the right direction, and kind of explain the rules of runing an extended cab truck? Ive got a crap load of room back there for some huge woofers, so I would like to run the extended cab.

    Thanks,

    -steven-

Weather or not you use your truck is up to you and your budget. The same will apply on what class you play in.

If in say USACI, if you remove your back seat, that will put you in modified. Thats not a bad thing just different. Same type of idea plays into DB Drag as well.

If your short on that big whad of extra cash as most of us are, use what you got.

I know you can get damn loud in that truck with the loss of the back seat. So save what you would spend on a different car and play and learn with what you got.

  6. Not sure bout his list ( and I'm sure he has one) but here's a a breakdown of mine.

    2 overhead Flipdown tv's

    the overhead ac controls

the metal support brackets to the roof

    the tire basket and lights

    the rear door skins

rear door panals at the seams

rear  ford emblem back pillar trim supports

and the ECU from getting wet. when the front window seal came loose and rained

then an assortment of little trim pieces either broke or cracked

Do you currently have a flipdown or you just gave up on putting one up there?

gave up on it, not like I was using it anyway

  8. hey bro are you only getting the silver or the clear too? any idea on the vlt of that silver? also on the specs site it says it has 3 layers... is that in one sheet or would we need to buy 3 sheets to get full protection? for some reason ace didnt answer my e-mail on the 28th

ill get info on how much i need

I'm getting a price on both the clear and silver. The 300 is a 2 ply 7mm sheet and it also comes in a 3ply 9mm sheet. This will be a single applaction. The 400 is a 11mm 4ply sheet. The dealer was busy on a commerical job today so I will call back tomorrow. It sounds to me like the 300 will work great for most cars (3ply 9mm) it's still thin enough to work with on the curves on the windows ( like the back ) then use the 400 on the sides. I've worked with these size films in the past and it can be a pain in the ass to get it right.

  9. I know Kingsuv, he should get a traiblazer or some thing smaller but it's nice having a lot of extra space for subs :^

I have this Jeep Commander rental while the trucks in the shop being put back together. ( So I can tear it apart when I get it home) and I might have to do a system in for a show coming up this weekend. Nothing fancy, but something to shake the shit out of it for a day

  10. If you want some thing with extra space go with an Excursion or some thing.

These aren't easy at all, but it can be done.

It's going to be tough what ever you choose. So find something you really want to drive first, then worry about getting loud. The bigger the airspace the more work you have to do, on the flip to that is you also have the room to fit more shit. It's a whole lot cheaper to change gear then it is to change rides.
