If you want a security film, just go to a shop and have them do it. Ordering a product you know nothing about may or may not protect you. I have seen companies call film a security tint and have it be nothing more then a over priced tint job. Security film is much thicker and can be a pain to install. I have 9 mil film on all my trucks. I have seen how well even a 4 mil product works. However, if applied incorrectly, it will not matter how thick it is. If a shop doesn't handle that type of product, then look for a commercial glass shop, they will have worked with it often. I have used it plenty of times for storefronts to keep people from breaking into gamestops

A Table saw is useful only when you have a good size table and rip fence attached to it. To be honest, a rip guide with your saw would be a better investment. If you have the room to build a nice outfeed table around the saw, then they are very handy. My table is 5' x 10' and i use a 10" crap ass table saw in it with a very nice fence attached.

Hands down the coolest product I have tried in a long time.
I would suggest thin coats so it dries more consistent. I got a little excited and used more at one time then I should have and it took a little longer then expected to dry between coats.

I might have to snag a banner for the shop when steve's not lookin

You know this looks pretty cool. its like having your dd1 constantly hooked up which i guess is cool. I mean when you set your dd1 and know for instance vol 28 is distorted, you dont need a light to tell you that but its cool that you have the option with this..
I was wondering if say maybe this product gets a bit more popular would there be some revisions made? Like idk a single din or some kinda mounting kit with a beauty ring maybe I missed it but it looks so far like youd have to fab this in yourself. or maybe an adjustable dimmer for the led's.. for some ppl for instance the stinger volt meter is kinda bright itd be nice to be able to dim it a lil bit imo.
I dont neccessarily want one of these at this moment in time, but maybe id buy one eventually.. but I think the price is fine, and I appreciate the fact that you used quality components like the power supply etc..
Keep doing whatcha doin Steve. This is yet another quality product in your lineup and something that you cant find anywhere else but SMD
we are in the process of tooling a front plastic tinted face for it. That will be available soon so if you don't make one yourself, hang tight we will have one!!
we pushed it out WITHOUT the faceplate because it was due in March but we didn't hit the deadline.....so i decided to release the raw units now. I am hoping the faceplate will be around $10.
In the meantime, a piece of lightly smoked acrylic and a creative install should make this thing look killer!
Sounds like I be waitin for the covers. I was thinking I would make one, but I'll let the pros handle it

In honesty, I would expected the price tag to have been more. I know small production orders are no joke. Glad I already finished the maro cause i could easily see one in the dash

LMFAO @ HOA's
I've worked for a builder who did quite a few communities that added in an HOA program. I would soon rather live in a tent then deal with the fucktards who run those programs.
In all reality, you are better off to move then fuck with an HOA. Sure you can play the 8:01 game, and I've seen plenty try, but I will assure you, rules will get amended and you will have a huge target on your back. I have even seen people go as far as fuck with peoples shit, and then turn them in. I have also seen others intercept warnings so others get fined. They will get to the point where you will get fined as soon as you flush the shitter past a certain time of day.
My job with the contractor was warranty legal claims. I've sat through more depositions then I care to remember. Trust me, people are fucked up 10 times more then you think.
My advise is to find a storage unit with power and do everything you would think someone would bitch about, over there, including taking a shit after hours.

Ken,
Its better to give it a shot and be turned down than to sit there years later and say what if.
THIS
Trust me, nothing worse then living your life with a "what if" hanging over your head. There is a few things I really wish I followed through with when I was younger

Ask someone who has spent a ton of money on RCA's and they will tell you without a doubt they make a difference.
I've used a great deal of different products over the years, and the old red n white radio shack RCA's still work great in some of my applications

Just about all the major tint brands also carry a security film on their commercial side. Llumar, 3M Solar guard etc. He will have a tough time finding a shop that carries anything in stock and will most likely have to buy a roll for them to do the job.
Find a commercial glass shop and see if someone there wants to do a little side work.
