^^ and different basket
And different t/s...

Oh really is the day of the RE over??It's just not what it used to be, with the lower lines. MX, XXX, and MT are pretty solid from what I've seen/heard. But compared to their older stuff, the RE to SX lines just aren't what they used to be. I'm not trying to bash them and say they're crap, it's just not what I'd do with my money.

Also, the whole X amount of port area per cubic foot rule is really only applicable when dealing with normal sized boxes. A 6ft^3 box for a single 15" woofer is quite large, and since port area requirements are not dependent on what size box you're running, you don't have to keep the same rule of thumb that you'd use with a normal box.

Read build logs, hang out and absorb as much as you can.
there's rules of thumb to designing good boxes and those can be found right here on this forum.
you really want to learn, then that's the best way so I'm not gonna say too much more. Good luck to ya!
Agreed, there's a ton of knowledge on the net that can be easily attained.

That is the response curve for a burp box I just made for two sa15s on a 1500 watt discus amp for a friend of mine.
You should have seen the one I did for my 21" Autotek...that thing peaked hard in big, high tuned boxes.

i really want the fi ssd "800rms" but i only have 500 rms for this sub. runner up i would get the re se'x "600rms" what sub should i buy??
The SSD is a solid daily sub, one of the best in that price range. I personally wouldn't touch the new RE line ending in "X".

The SSD.
Nothing wrong with 500 watts. Even if you had 800 watts, it would be less than a 2 dB difference in output.
And he could just compensate his lack of power with a slightly larger, more efficient box.

That's some crazy good low-end extension. It's too bad that mechanical power handling will be cut down due to the large box.
T/S Parameters and Box Building?
in Subwoofers / Enclosures

For pure spl, yes. Testing and more testing is the only way to get that last tenth on the meter. But for a daily build, accurate t/s parameters are very good at determining what kind of box the woofer will work best in and what specs it prefers.
