  1. Good to see you on here, that looks like a nice build so how does it sound? Hoping to get my nitro build going soon.
  2. Looks good, I still havent gotten a chance to hear some DC's but im gonna try before I make my next woofer purchase.
  3. Yeah, thats what had me re-thinking my reply, I am probably thinking about the older manual transmissions, sorry for the confusions.
  4. I know the transfer case takes the Tranny fluid but I was thinking the manual trans took the gear oil. Like I said I have been out of the shop for a few years so correct me if I am wrong, got me re-thinking this now just had a tooth pulled and my mind is not clear right now.
  5. I am pretty sure it is a GL-5 rated oil, same as rearend gear oil. If you still have the owners manual it will have it listed in there. Been a few years since I was a certified GM Technician but if memory serves me right that is what it uses.
  6. Yeah, I stopped by both of those stores and made my mind up that I was gonna get Tri State to Hook up mine when I figure out which brand oem adapter I want to go with to keep my factory touch screen radio. I forgot dudes name but he was pretty cool. I dont want just a regular LOC. I want something that will keep hold the voltage up good. Pac makes a factory type adapter for my ride but I was hoping I could find something better.
  7. I only have 1500 watts rms, but it does good for what it is, had it in the trunk of an 06 Altima and now its in the 2011 Dodge Nitro waiting to be hooked up and I think it will do better in it than the car. So what are some decent car audio stores around there?
  8. I am in southaven pretty often, everything you need is on goodman rd. Lol got my nitro at landers dodge.
  9. Dont know if this is the right place for this but I was wondering if there was anyone around the Memphis area on here with a big system I might could get a Demo from. I spend a lot of time in Memphis working on the Mississippi river and would like to meet a few car audio guys around here. I havent heard a big system in a while and got the itch.
  10. I know there may be some better subs out for the money but I have had good luck with the DBXI's and the sound quality in my rides with custom slot ported boxes that was pretty impressive. May not win spl competitions but they slam pretty good. Had Two 15's in my 97 Tahoe With Earthquake Powerhouse 5000D and they carried a long ways. I think I like them better than my 2-15" T5 Tarrantulas. Got rid of the HOE and put two 12's DBXI with Soundstream Piccasso 1500D in my Altima and they were taking there toll on the interior. I just recently traded the altima in on a 2011 Dodge Nitro and hoping the 12's will slam in it. Just wish I still had the 15's and Powerhouse amp to put in it, but I still have the boxes for them so who knows I may end up getting some more unless you guys can recommend something you think is better for my ride that will work with the 1500D Soundstream running on 1 ohm, could go to 1/2 but dont really want to chance it with stock charging system. With the remote gain half way up, the 12's dont want anymore than that. Gonna stay with 4 gauge and go with 100 amp inline fuse instead of 80 cause I did pop the 80 a time or two. It would be overkill but I still have the 0 gauge and 200amp fuse and solenoid from the Tahoe for a future build, but let the 3800 Kinetiks go (stupid). I new here but always have had sounds since before I started driving (sparkomatic car radio, 40 watt jenson amp and two 6x9's and radio shack 12" in crappy box, hooked to battery charger in the bedroom floor) Lol! 33 years old and still loving it so take it easy on me guys and opions are welcome.
  11. i would agree with getting a dual sport to learn to ride on, but you have a higher seat height then other bikes with one, and you will get bored with it quick. i would buy the bike you plan on owning for a while right off the start. you will get the hang of riding real fast, and then you will already have the bike you want, and won't be spending a crap ton more money getting two bikes. The main thing to learn is throttle control and clutch control. once you get that you'll be good to go, and will want a bigger bike. A great starter bike that I have had experience with is the Yamaha FZ6, it basically has the R6 engine but with more low end torque that makes it more street friendly. It also sits a little more upright which can be a little more comfortable on long trips but it is bad azzzzzz when you open the throttle up and let the RPM's rise. It also carves thru the curves with the best of them, check it out and try to get a test drive and I bet you will be impressed.
