A couple years ago there was a tornado in Moreno valley CA, it knocked over a couple of rail cars. In fact CA averages 5 confirmed tornados a year.

Yea the absolute best ground is the -(negative) terminal on the battery itself. The next best I would think is a good chassis ground.

Congrats to you and your family man! I know what you mean about getting all emotional, it's hard not to with such a blessing like this! Cant wait to see the lil man in a SMD beanie!!

I'd scale it down a bit to fit more seats in, but that's just my opinion. If I were in your boys shoes then I would want to have more seats for more friends.

Is the one alt going to handle all that power? I'm curious to see what you have in store man! It's going to be epic!

i made my own circle jig out of 1/4" mdf i had laying around. cheap and easy. just make sure you have some scrap mdf to test your holes with. id recommend a 1/2" upspiral cut bit, 1/4" will work too but is more likely to flex under load.
Hey do you wax your circle jig before using it? I have always done this with home made jigs but wanted others opinions on this. And to the op, it's easy to make your own just make sure your measurements are accurate.

Sorry, double post.

Wow thanks for the quick reply man! Yea I thought I remember hearing that shipping was included in the price but I guess not. Even more reason to arrange local pickup!

I know that FI is located in Las Vegas, which isn't too far from me. If I were to order 4 18" BTL's could I arrange for local pickup so I can save on shipping costs and hassles? Does the pricing On the website reflect shipping? Or is it added when you check out? Thanks for the info!

I'm not sure if I read it right but a few posts up you said that you have to put the charger on it before you can use it? Just a suggestion but you might want to check the electrical for shorts cause I know from experience (I'm a heavy equipment operator) that wires often short out on equipment from normal wear and tear. I'm not an expert on battery's or anything but I think I remember hearing it's bad for the battery to be charged then completely depleted, as well as being stored for periods of time depleted. Hope all works out for ya!

Yea those are some sexy lookin amps. Congrats on the "lil" upgrade!

Oh ok cool, I figured it was done because it was the best way. I know you like to do it overkill! Too bad more people don't think that way.

Wow Steve, gotta say this build turned out great! I noticed you ran ground wires from under the hood all the way back to the amps, its been a while since I have been doin car audio, but I remember hearing it was always best to have your ground as short as possible coming off the amps. What were you reasons for doing it this way? Thanks man!
I got somethin' comin my way!
