  1. Yeah I'll probably upgrade to both xs after awhile but I stupidly bought the optima cause my original battery was done and it's in my daily truck....
  2. I believe they are REALLY underrated! I've read alot of people powering the sa12's with more than that so I think I'll be ok...lol I just want some opinions on my battery situation?
  3. Umm the 2500 puts out 4000? I was told alot of people run the 2500 to 2 sa's no problem....I just want to get louder so thought jumping to 2500 would do it according to a post I put up and answers I recieved about that question...
  4. Hey guys I have 2 sa12's and and running off of a sax 1200d and plan on jumping to the saz 2500d. I have a yellow top optima under the hood now and I have an xs power 3400 on it's way, I have heard it's not good to mix batteries but I really don't want my optima to go to waste, I just bought it like 2 weeks ago. If it's ok to mix both will go under the hood, which one should go to the amps...
  5. I'm actually getting an xs power 3400 for under the hood, not sure what second battery I should get? Then I'll do alt. I've also decided to get the saz 2500! I have not deadened truck??
  6. Ok ive decided to change my yellow top to a xspower 3400, so what other battery would I need to support this?
  7. Ok thanks guys! It sounds great but you all know after a bit we want louder! So I'll stick with this until I upgrade again! Ram did do a hell if a job with this design it's tuned at 45hz in a bandpass, get pretty damn low...
  8. Lol I wish but wife only gave me part of the bed to use??? So can't do that
  9. Oh ok well music sounds great right now! So may not want to shorten then? Any other suggestions on how to get louder?
  10. Would adding a second yellow top under the hood work?
  11. So shortening port would make it louder?
  12. Yeah I told him 4th order bandpass and he said that's 2 different things! Lol
  13. Yeah I know! What do you think of it? I'm not doing any comp stuff it's a daily driver, could I get it louder to the ear? It's already pounding but as always want more!
  14. Anybody? Sum guy at car stereo place said I could get louder by doing this of course since he never heard of sundown and he is a kicker guy he knows he could have built box to be louder, and suggested shortening the port to like 8"???
  15. I was wondering if in my current box I was to shorten my port if I could get LOUDER? I have 2sa12's in a blowthrough running off a sax1200d...
  16. another member on here that lives by me has a Goliath on a stock cobalt alternator (135 amps or something) and 2 hc1400's (iirc) in the trunk. he said he drops to 13 or so. im not saying there is no problem with having that extra output on demand, but when he doesnt need it there is no point imho. he never stated he was going to upgrade as well. a secondary battery and the big 3 and he should be fine. alot of people on here (not talking about you) think that dropping under 14v means that their whole car is going to blow up. and when said people give advice, then they make the OP spend alot of unnecessary money for something that they dont really need at that point in time. I just talked to the guy at alt shop he says they change the stator and diodes? Is that going to be enough?
  17. for $170, i assume they just replacing the stator with a larger one. if thats the case, your output power at idle will drop SIGNIFICANTLY if you do that. i had a remanufactured stock alt with a larger stator and i dropped to high 11's one time AT IDLE IN PARK with no stereo or lights on, but consistently dropped to low 12's every day when at idle. at stop lights i always had to put it in neutral and rev the engine a little so i could just get the freaking thing charging. you can counter though that with a smaller pulley but that can only help so much. lesson learned here? dont cheap out on alternators. How do I know if that's what there doing? I was told 240 alt and that's the whole alt change? I'm I misunderstanding?
  18. What if I just upgrade my alt I can get that done for like 170$, would that take care of it or would I still need to do big 3 and add battery? If I still need to do those things I won't do alt, and just do big 3 and or add battery...I'm just looking for easiest solution and best economically, BUT not cutting corners!
  19. I may upgrade down the road cuz we all know how once you get loud you want louder! But for a while I'll run this, I just want it to be stable.....
  20. Wow lots of opinion, thanks guys...so is 4 gauge ok? Should I add a battery and do big 3? Or just big 3? I already upgraded stock battery so just looking for what I NEED? thanks guys
  21. Alright I just installed a blowthrough in my crew cab silverado, it consists of 2sa12's and a sundown sax1200d, I'm running it at .5 ohms so I need to know exactly what I NEED to do electrically? I already changed my stock battery to a yellow top optima. My lights dim quite a bit when I'm playing music and I can see my battery voltage on my cluster drop down so I know I'm In need of some changes, just wanna do what's necessary! I have 4 gauge running to my sub amp....Thanks!
  22. Yeah I'm actually trying to decide what to do electrically now? I've changed stock battery to optima yellow, and trying to decide if I should add a battery or do the alt!
  23. You can strap 2 1200s @ 2 ohms then since you have d2s Would that be much change from running the 1200 at .5 thats what I'm doing now? Seems like strapping them at 2 wouldnt be much change? Could I run strapped at .5? Doesn't work that way, running 2 amps strapped at 2 ohms = 1 ohm per amp so 2400 rms, if you run strap at .5 that's .25 per amp, hope you have one hell of an electrical to back that up LOL didn't realize that! So do u think I'd notice a difference from what I'm doing now? I dont want to change it if I won't notice??
