a few d3100 should help though you may need a 2nd alt.
You are talking 5kw RMS right?
Like you said you get what you pay for. If you can't afford the high dollar stuff and you dont want to save over time you may need to rethink and downgrade your system goals.
-
Is this just a dumb question or beyond general knowledge? Maybe the wording ?
-
Is it possible to run 2 rectifiers off of a single alt. Consider leaving the stock inplace and taping into the normal 3 wires for an external. External independatnly regulated to 16v and leave the stock as is for stock electrical.
Is this practical?
Is this possibe?
What are the draw backs / challanges?

There is no reason not to fuse. If the amp is already internally fused, well, then it is already fused.
-
I might take these if they are here still in a week. Does this include the bolt to mount to the batteries? Will the stock (post mount) bolts from a d1400 work on these?
-
I ordered a batch of pro b-stock. Hope this doesnt sell out cause I will likely need another batch.

Need a D1400. Post here or pm condition, resting volts, what environment it was being used in and price including shipping to 27265.

High Point is not in Randaugh County in fact, i've never heard of a randaugh county. Could be Randolph county but that would no longer be High Point.

Need more port. Aim for at LEAST 12sq in per cubic foot of box space.
-
and so i need 1/0 ring terminals. battery post extended, heatshrink? anything else im forgetting?
torch, silver solder and flux.
and fuse holder and fuses

ill have to check all my connections... i kinda doubt its bad crimps tho. all the wire that i used came out of my astro (which just died on me) but it didnt have any voltage issues. it was doing a 149.3 on music. i understand that i wont see a voltage gain and i also understand that the big 3 only allows more amperage to flow. what i cant figure out is why after running the big 3 ive lost almost half a volt.
Did you clean your ground point down to metal ? Are you using 1/0 for the big three ? When was the last time your battery was topped off (is it brand new or used)?
-
why ot use that angled space behind the seat to increase the enclosure size, that way you can build the port like mentioned above and not have to extend it outside of the box (perhaps).
-
What is your ohm load to the amp and what is your amp stable to ?
-
make the box for one 15 and use the other as a backup for if/when you blow it.

Isn't you net volume a bit small for bottom end on 2 12s?

I may have been in error about the ohm readings. I may have had the meter on the wrong setting (at least the ones taken at the battery). However, why does connecting my amps make the measured voltage at the distro block drop? I just took another measurement and it was down to 12.27v but the battery is still at 14.17v. Opinions please?
When you say connecting - do you mean its just plugged in or powered on playing music ?
Also, did you mention earlier that you are grounded to the floorpan?? if yes relocate to a quality ground - do you have a picture of your Big 3 ground location ?

Question about the Skar amps (1500.1D specifically) -
Working Voltage : 8.5V-16V
Will using this amp with 14v batteries charging in the mid 16.x volts range void the warranty ?

Honestly 35k seems low. Even for starting pay. I would aim a bit higher - nothing rediculous but...somthing more respectible since you will be THE IT guy. Consider people make more in a mindless factor production position (with OT).
-
For an extra $50 I'll include a pair of Quad 1/0 adaptors.
-
-
I'll do $500 shipped on a Soundstream XXX 4000d. If you're interested I'll post pics.
-
you need more port area. round square or whatever, larger the box = more surface area you need on the port = a longer port = a larger box.
What should I buy next?

my vote is for the sound deadener. Thought your vote is the only one that really counts. Sound deadener and electrical are the 2 first steps when your goal is building a stereo system in your car (aside from planning and financing).
