  1. Tried the mock up and there's no chance of it fitting in through the back unless it was at least an inch smaller in every direction. Kinda thinking about doing 2 identical but separate boxes:

Option A: Sub up L-port up

    Box: 16h * 30w * 16d

    Port: 14.5 * 2.25 * 22

    2.74 ft^3

    33.94Hz

    Port Area: 32.63in^2

    11.91Port area per foot

Option B: PVC Port on end, sub either up or on the opposite end

    Box: 15h * 30w * 15d

    Port: 2 @ 4" x 19L

    2.53 ft^3

    34.00Hz

    Port Area: 25.12 in^2

    9.93 Port area per foot

Port area values are a lot lower on these, but I couldn't get the tuning right if I went larger. Please leave some feedback if you've read this far, lol.

  2. on that mb quart you linked have you heard anything about them?

do they do rated or atleast close to rated?

It's got good reviews over at Sonic Electronics, but idk about power ratings for these. I know the old series, Discus IIRC, did rated+ and I think these are supposed to be the replacements for them. MB quart is known for being a SQ style more than and SPL style, but they're supposed to be good. Towards the top end of Maxxsonics brands I think.

EDIT: Sorry for the thread jacking OP. pardon.gif

  3. Hey I am just courious the mb quart that you posted in its description it says features at 1ohm 1500 but under specifications it says 1ohm 2000.

Am I missing something? Just thought I'd ask

LOL, my bet is that it's a typo. Keep an eye out for little stuff like that because one that was FULL of typos about 2 weeks ago was the RE MX 18's. If something don't seem right, check with the manufacturer.

Just looked up the RE MX on both and the box sizes are still wrong. I usually go to the contact us page and send them a small message letting them know which areas are wrong and what the right values are.

  4. Here's a pretty good list of grain free dog foods that you could look for: GRAIN FREE DRY DOG FOOD

Basically they are all rated 4~5 stars and have no grain. Here's a comprehensive list if you don't want to read the other stuff on the site:

I know that Wellnes brand is pretty good too, but IIRC Taste of the Wild was cheaper.

  5. Hmmm, maybe I'll have to do some re-measuring when I get home from work. I think I measured on the small side so that I can get it in and out. After the port, the front plate would be 24.5x14.5 and if I put the two subs side by side, they would sit 25.52" wide. Might have to change the design as to where the subs or port sit too... This is going into the trunk of a '98 Malibu and I just want the loudest design. How well would subs forward port backward/side/up do? With this size I am getting sorta worried about being able to even slide it in/out, lol.

I would build it into the trunk, but I may not have this car a year from now and these subs will not be going with it.

  6. Try 16h x 30w x 28.75d with a port of 4.75w x 15h x 28d. That will throw you 4.6 net 33hz with 15.5" in^2 port per cube. That's also figuring for bracing, woofer displacement, etc.

Wouldn't the port be 14.5" tall due to the .75" MDF? And wouldn't 4.75" wide be too much since I gotta fit 2 12's into the remaining space of the front plate with overall diameter of 12.76" each? Would I also need that much volume for these?

  7. I have 2 T3 T.1000 12's being reconed this week and need a box for them. I have been working a bit on designing one and need some of the more seasoned members here to take a look and give me some advice. I would like both port and subs forward.

    Max Width: 30"

    Max Height: 16.5"

    Max Depth: 32"

Here are the specs from T3:

    T3Specs.jpg?t=1309793748

Here is the box I've done up using Torres box Calc:

    Box2Torres.jpg?t=1309812307

And here is those values put into the RE Calc just for a visual display and cutsheet list:

    Box2RE.jpg?t=1309812307

Thanks for looking and please leave some feedback. I really want to build this one myself and if anyone can draft one up that would work a lot better than what I have so far let me know, I'm completely open to suggestions. I am mainly trying to stay within the max dimensions listed above and trying to tune around 33Hz using a slot port, but I may try out a PVC port.

  8. These are both from AudioSavings:

    ~$140 Pioneer

    ~$150 Rockford

Rockford is brand new in the box with free shipping and a 1 year warranty

Pioneer is certified B-stock with free shipping and a 1 year warranty

    $130 Planet Audio B-stock

I know they're at the peak of your price range, but my experience has been to just spend the little extra and be happy rather than save $30-40 now and have to spend $125 later down the road to fix/replace whatever piece I got before. AudioSavings is a great site that has made many contributions to this site and they are definitely worth taking a look at. Plus they usually have badass daily deals. Hope this helps.
