    So apparently in the 90s a 42v system was proposed to replace 12v in cars... Damn that would've been nice. Anyone remember it at all? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/42-volt_electrical_system

      its not the voltage that kills you though. its the amperage

      Word. You can get hit by a 1000 volts and it mightn't kill you. Current makes you it's bitch though. But always remember all it takes is 50mA through your heart and you're dead :P Mortality right there.

      Amperage is what kills as stated above ^ Welders only operate on a couple volts.
