  1. just wanted to say, if you're going to do clear coat, don't get the store baught spray can stuff. it just makes a mess. having to scrape it off now.
  2. its funny because its true. autozone does have a ton of led accessories. too bad o'reillys & pepboys dont as autozone is the most expensive. btw, walmart.com even has a small selection. if you guys are talking about led tail lights though, i recommend buyhalolights.com they usually have better prices then most online stores.
  3. i just finished hand sanding some tail lights. went from 220 -> 320 -> 600 -> 2000 grit. freakin' took like 3 hours before i decided they were ok. going to continue tomorrow as the sun's going down and my hands hurt.
  4. big 3 huh?.. so basically just replace the battery cables with this 0 gauge insulated stuff?.. (+ new battery also it seems). hopefully that 0 gauge stuff is easy to find as there's mostly just stuff like pepboys, oreilly's, etc around me
  5. i see all these capacitors from brands im not sure on(pyle, lanzar, soundstorm, etc) with the exception of rockford fosgate. a side from rockford, are there any other brands that are good?
  6. sadly no. never did anything with wood nor do i even know what to use. im assuming ill have to just buy a better pre made... wish i knew what to look for.
  7. or what i should be asking is, what do i look for in a box? 12 or 15? or what about a box with 2 12 slots and 2 15?
  8. any place around North San Diego county I can get a decent box from? Willing to go up to s. Orange county also... Would like to still stick with one that supports 12" 2 or 4. figure i can still use these CompVR' & then switch up to Comp Solo' or CompVX
  9. I have an 00' Astro Van and have completely removed all seats except for driver/passenger. Originally, I had a Kicker Dx500.1 amp powering a pair of Kicker Comp 12". Recently, I replaced the amp with an old Rockford Fosgate Punch 801S and replaced the standard Comps' with a pair of CompVR's. Maybe it's just the size/shape of my vehicle, but I'm not really feeling much of a difference from the old setup to the new one. Yes, everything is properly hooked up & adjusted. So, what sort of setup would actually help me feel the bass more? I would prefer to stick with Kicker(at least for the subs) as they are easier to acquire/replace. Thanks
  10. well it ended up being a loose wire going to the amp. the subs are currently wired in "parallel" and working fine.
  11. yes gains are maxed. looks like im going to have to continue in the morning. im getting nothing from the subs no matter how they're configured(amp shows power though). oh bother!
  12. they follow that 2nd diagram except that the subs are not linked together since each is going to a seperate channel.
  13. manual was no help so looked on the sub itself. says 4ohm
  14. specifications say dual 2 or 4. amp is set to LP. oh and gain is currently turned all the way up for both channels... and come to think of it, i didnt notice much of a difference when i tried adjusting them. hmmm
  15. well, i checked out the wiring diagrams in the manual for the compvr's and tried going both 'parallel' and 'series' based. neither way seemed to xhange things much. i still have my dx500.1 so wondering if i should just use the dx for 1 sub & the rf for the other.

  17. the old ones were SVC and the new ones are DVC.
  18. I had a Kicker DX500.1 (500w RMS) & 2 12" Kicker Comp's. It was.nice but I wantedan upgrade. I ended up replacing the 2 Comp's with a pair of CompVR's. I then noticed that there didnt' seem to be much difference with those compared to the old Comp's no matter how i adjusted the amp I figured that I needed a more powerful amp so I ended up replacing the DX with a Rockford Fosgate Punch 801S. This amp is supposed to do 800w RMS as opposed to the DX' 500w RMS. Anyway, now the subs arent even hitting as hard as they did with the Kicker DX. I dont understand whats going on.
  19. Im meeting with someone in the morning who's sellibg one of these. I want it to power a pair of Kicker CompVR's(12"). I know RF has a good reputation & that this is an older amp... but is this one an actual good one? Its being offered at $160 & I can also get an MB Quart ONX1.1500D for nearly the same price new. What do you guys think?
  20. was just looking at Amps in a local shop and the owner was trying to push some Orion C08001 on me for $179.
  21. currently im just running my setup solely through the standard battery installed in my van. no additionally batteries installed. with these xs batteries, do you use them to replace your normal battery or just as add-on batteries?
  22. for sale section rules read em know em love em.
  23. so, i was thinking about building a sub wall for my astro van. honestly, ive never done anything with wood(handyman related) at all... i just know how to build/fix cell phones, desktops & laptops. that being the case, what sort of tools/wood would i need? i'd prefer not to bolt it into the van as i'd like to be able to move it if ever necessary... so probably some sort of clamp system to hold it in place. i realize i could just go and have a local shop do this but figure i'd say a big chunk of cash that could go to new subs instead. any help is appreciated. thanks!
  24. What the... They actually have these things in Lincoln City? I lived near the casino (NW 50th st) but never even saw any of these 'custom' rides... One time went to the Tilamook Cheese Factory and in some open lot across the street and bunch of ricers w/ Toyota's were hanging out showing off their cars.
