thank you, I didnt even think about the enclosure... there aren't even any vents on the p.o.s. I guess ill go look around town tomorrow. there's 7 car audio shops on the same street less then 5 miles apart so ill have quite the assortment to look through.

its a basic generic enclosure the shop had laying around that fit the subs. they are being powered by a kicker dx500.1 which I know I will also need to upgrade or add a 2nd one. I listen to electronic music only(bassline, drum n bass, electro, garage, speed garage). the vehicle is an astro van.

I currently have a pair of the 12" kicker comps and was thinking about switching those out for a pair of the solo-baric l3's. is there going to be a noticable difference?

If its running hot check grounds and make sure you have proper airflow to cool it down. and for the tweets do they have a inline crossover? I blew my first set cause I had the bass on the headunit almost all the way up. yes on the crossover and I made sure to turn the bass all the way down on the amp as the bass is being handled by the Kicker dx500.1 in the rear going to the 2x12 Kicker comps.

I've got a pair of PolkAudio dxi6500 components in the doors and a PolkAudio pa660 amp powering them(a long with some 4x6 Polk's in the rear pillars + Kicker 6" in the rear doors. So far I've blown a tweeter twice & was told that it's because of the amp. Today I went to a local shop and they commented on the amp runnibg a bit hot but said that the amp is fine and recommended I upgrade the components instead. I thought it was the amp and was going to change it out but now that these guys are saying differently I don't know what I should do. What do you guys think?

i was looking to keep it under $200 as i'm getting a new dj mixer also. right now i've got a polkaudio pa660 connected to the components in the doors + the rear pillar & rear door speakers in my van. so far i've blown a tweeter twice & have a feeling it's due to the underpowered amp. i'd like something that can handle all those speakers just fine(especially when i'm playing music loud) there are subs also, but they have their own amp & that's doing ok so far. oh and btw, thanks everyone for your responses so far.

i was browsing the web and found some 1000w+ amps for decent prices, but the companies i've never heard of. anyone familiar with these and know if they are any good? Autotek Crunch - was already told older models are decent, but not sure about newer ones? MB Quart - as with Crunch, was told older ones good back in the Rockford days Power Acoustik Soundstorm i'm considering ordering one online but would rather not go through the hassle of doing such & installing it just go "ooohhh.. this sucks!" any input is appreciated. thanks

I haven't had the money to do anything "great" with my van yet, but decided I wanted to at least have something in there so I can enjoy my tunes. Here's what I have so far: My Deck - Alpine CDE-103BT: Polk-Audio DXi6500 component speakers: DXi6500's (installed in driver door): DXi6500's (installed in passenger door): DXi 460p's (which are installed in the rear pillars): Polk-Audio PA 660 (installed under left-middle row seat - view 1): Polk-Audio PA 660 (installed under left-middle row seat - view 2): Kicker COMP's (2x12") in generic encloser(of course in the trunk area): Kicker DX 500.1 mono Amplifier (next to the subs): and of course, need to make sure everything's ok to go: so as you can see, it's not a powerful system at all but at least volume wise it's decent. i wish the bass felt more natural though. when i can i will upgrade as much as possible but as now it's an ok complete basic setup.
