  1. Just patched a 275/65/r17 about two weeks ago. Tire went on 05 yukon xl and the tire has tire pressure sensors in the valve stems. I took it to wal mart and for 10 dollars they removed the tire, ground down around the puncture to the steel braid, and patched the tire from the inside. It has held up under many tasks towing two zero turns, towing a carolina skiff, and heavy cornering loads. I will say my man phillip at wal mart has my loyalty in the tire department

  2. From what Kicker amps I have heard I'll have to say they got some constant power. On the birth sheet of the Kicker ZX1000.1 its rated near like 1100w right? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Edit: 1100w is under perfect circumstances (excellent constant voltage, no clipping, gains set to the right place)

  3. Ijust went out and listened to the system with the ipod and aux cable and with the ipod wide open I could hear a liitle distortion so I did the "one click" with the ipod vol control and the distortion seemed to fade in the subs so I cut the sub lvl and bass lvl back so I could hear mainly mids/highs and a little distortion came when the ipod was one click back so looks like 2 clicks back solves a little distortion problem. If the pay check is good and I get the ipod adpater for my HU ill def say how it is. My HU vol never went above 20 out of 50. Its good to have a small project to learn about and to take up a small bit of my free time haha

  4. @chris: thanks dude that looks like it will work. Only concern is under the "note" on the product specs of the adapter it says not compatable with ipod touch, iphone, iphone 3g. You know it works with ipod touch? Just curious before I consider droppin the money on it.

@hotdog: the cd's have done me well and earned a good reputation. I got so many of decafs songs left to go through I just needed an easier way than cd's. If its all ne

  5. Thank y'all for all the quick responses. I do have an aux cable and so badly would like to get rid of it. How can I do so? Like how can I let my JVC KD-A315 access the hard drive on my ipod?

@klown: I would like to be able to control the volume with one unit to make volume adjusting easier in places I don't know or places with a lot of cops. I do have a remote for the HU but its still 2 units controlling volume since I have the dreaded aux cable.

@blown: is it trough bluetooth or what? How does the alpine access the ipod I'm wondering?

@chris: thanks for the detailed description on that. Can my JVC KD-A315 access the ipod hard drive like steve and others? I'm looking through the manual now.

  6. Hey what's up y'all I know this is a kinda of the wall but I was just wondering what everyone thought of the next two questions (listed below). I usually burn mp3 cd's and play cd's through my HU but I can only fit about 140 on a cd and I have quite a few songs on my ipod but the ipod has a volume adjust and a EQ. Only played my ipod on the system just a couple of times to play around with it. I found that if I have the ipod volume about 3/4 the way up and my HU volume about 1/3 way up played the best. I also turned the bass boost off and put the EQ on "flat". Just want a few opinions from the ones who love to run their system off their ipod. I know Steve plays his 30K system off an ipad so they can't be that bad.

Do y'all turn the ipod volume up and HU volume down or just the opposite?

What is your EQ set to? Flat sounds like the least distortion.

I'm also wondering if the ipod volume can create distortion in the signals?

Thank y'all for any help or opinions on this. Its much appreciated. -James

All Decaf (thanks for all the hard work man):

  7. Just a thought but maybe you could clear coat those lights or seal them somehow to keep moisture out and like @RooTxBeeR said maybe some weather stripping or some sort of foam to help isolate the vibrations? I'm not a 100% sure on this as this is the first I have heard of this problem. Hope you can get it fixed though. Also maybe the local auto parts store might be able to offer a solution?

Sounds like you got a killer system though. Congrats on that part

  8. @EVAlonSo: where would you recommend? I really want to ground it to the frame but don't want to drill any holes through the floor. I got to take the back seats out to see if there are any places to go through. You happen to know if there are any places under the carpet?

  9. x3 man. Sorry to hear that happened. How long did he keep the amp for the terminals to get corroded? Maybe call the amp company and hope they have some replacement speaker terminals and replacement screws instead of having to come out of your own pocket to buy yet another amp? Some people need to learn how respect equipment and other peoples stuff.

@Autruche made a good point though
