@james: building them correctly and tuning them really does help out the cause haha.
-
True that James. Think Birch might have less flex than MDF?
-
MDF board works great. No real need to change from 3/4" MDF. Only other I have heard of being used is Birch Plywood but I'm not to sure as I have never heard a box built with it.

Pretty good song right there

Congrats man. I bet you feel good knowing that

Well Im in Rocky Mount. We have "Auto Phonics" in town and the a place called "Wires Inc.". I am going probably tomorrow to talk to the technician/installer at Wires Inc. to see whats up there. Hope they got a better set up and maybe ill learn a lil bit while im there as i need to do. Auto Phonics here in town installs amps under back seats or to the side of the trunk and for their boxes usually if you get 2 subs its a single slot port between the 2 subs. Next time i go through Greenville ill have to check out Mobile Millenia.

I was wondering if anyone out there knew of any good audio shops in Eastern NC? There is one in Rocky Mount named Auto Phonics but they dont carry SPL meters or even have one. I was looking for a shop that knows what they are doing and doesnt mind answering a few beginner questions if i have any which im sure I will. I would really like to see how my system hits as far as db's but cant find anywhere around here to test it. Just would really like to learn all the info I can so I can pursue my hobby in audio. Something I really like and plan on getting into. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as I dont have much of a budget to buy equipment on

Hello to the SMD and car audio community. Looking forward to learning as much as I can about car audio because growing up in Eastern NC I have heard systems and I have been hittin up car shows for a while. Never been to an all out bass comp. but I will attend a show on July 2nd that is hosted at "Wilson Stereo & Sound" which will have some sick systems hopefully. Finding a lot of great info on here and finally learning the beginning parts of how to start off build from scratch and seems there are a lot of people who enjoy the same hobby as i do. As some of yall may surpass my knowledge to start with i'll hopefully catch up to yall in the years to come. Found the forums from searching around on youtube to see other peoples systems and builds and all i can say is im glad its here. Recently purchased 2 Q Power (new deluxe) 12's and a SM2-1200 (1200w) Autotek "street machine" amp. Also have 4ga power wire. Comments or suggestions are also welcome. Ill def be seeing everyone around on the forum and excuse any noob questions as im sure there are some to come haha and thanks in advance for any help.
@TIG: Hope your mom comes through good on that bypass. Granddad has had a triple bypass and pulled through. So i wish you the same for sure. Also congrats on the family.
