  1. I ordered from their main site and found their shipping rates reasonable to Saskatchewan. I ordered the kolossus fleks cable, its great stuff. Their ring terminals on the other hand weren't so great. The ones they sent me didn't fit in the Knu brand positive battery terminal i also ordered. I had to grind them down a couple millimeters to get them to fit.

Did the terminals fit on the 1/0 kolossus wire ok? I heard somone say that you almost need 2/0 terminals for their 1/0 wire but since the ring terminals are from the same company I hope they fit the wire haha or I might have some work ahead of me :)

Not to be creepy, but where from in SK? I'm in Regina haha.

It is a tight fight, but with a bit of squeezing its doable. You'll have trouble getting the cable in the terminals if you don't cut it nicely. Cut it as square and neatly as possible and they'll work.

    and I'm located in Saskatoon.

  2. I'm running the brutus 1200 for my two vvx12's. It's an ok amp, but it sorta left me wanting more power. So far ive used it for about 2 months and i'm upgrading to somewhere around 2200 rms.

You can't really tell by my iPhone video but it gets the car vibrating pretty good. If you play real low shit it's where these woofers really shine. I had an open coffee in my cup holder the other day with some C&S remixes on and it splashed all over the place haha. Can't wait to see how they'll handle 2200

  4. Looking for something to power a pair of VVX 12's. Shipping would be to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, postal code S7L 1L9.

Also interested in Optima Yellowtops, 14 AWG speaker wire and used H/O Nissan/Infinity i30 alternators.

  5. Thanks guys I ended up going to a audio shop this morning and tried a few wires.. ended up getting some stinger 12 gauge it just barely fits in without having to trim anything..

The guy had never heard of Skar before and asked me to bring it in.. he looked a little shocked when I walked in with it lol.. I guess he was thinking it was gonna be some cheap POS sub lol

Sorta surprised it fit. The stuff I used was monster cable 12 gauge and it had to be shaved down a lot to get two wires in in one terminal.

  6. I love the way my Infinity Kappas sound in my maxima. The model numbers are in my sig if you wanna check them out. I spent $75 per set and $180 for my amp at sonicelectronics.com. They have a really clean mid and high range and alright bass. I'd reccomend these if you already have subs or plan on getting them.

  7. Hey guys,

This build log will follow modifications to my 95 Maxima GLE. This weekend I decided to start my first build. I really wanted to have a vehicle with a nice sound system geared towards loud SQ. I replaced all the stock speakers, putting in 2 pair of Infinity Kappa 652.9i and an Infinity Reference 475a amplifier to power them. The speakers are rated for 75w RMS each and the amp outputs 90w RMS per channel. I finished installing them on sunday and love how they sound! They have a clean and loud sound with great highs and good midbass. I plan on getting a woofer next, but that is still a plan in the works. Here's the pics I took.

    A shot of my car.

In order to get the rear deck speakers out I had to remove the entire backseat to get to the cardboard cover that is over the stock speakers.

These things were a bitch to pry off. The clips were really tough since they hadn't been taken off before.

This is what the rear deck is like with the cardboard cover removed, showing the new speakers in place.

Door panels removed to get access to the speaker housing.

I applied a few layers of Resisto Redzone to the door panels as sound deadner and baked it on with a heatgun. That shit STICKS. It was kinda pointless to wear gloves cause they just stuck to and ripped on the adhesive.

In October someone broke into my car, smashing my window. I tried to pick out most of the glass bits that got stuck in the door frame, then vacuumed it out with a shopvac.

    img0136zk.th.jpg

Here's where I ran the amp wiring through the backseat into the trunk. There is a carpeted kinda carboard lining in the trunk that wires come out of, concealing the wire nicely.

This is the spot on the firewall where I drilled a hole big enough to fit 4 awg cable through.

    img0138ye.th.jpg

The amp powered up with its bright blue rails. I've positioned it better and cleaned up the trunk and hid the wires better since I took this picture.

    img0147cm.th.jpg

I'll get some better pictures of the trunk now that I've finished putting everything in. It looks a lot more 'finished' than in this last pic. I'll also get some better pics of the cars' body when I wash it next. As soon as I finish editing some video I took I'll be posting a few videos to youtube to show the system in action.

Thanks for checking out my build log.
