  1. gains are set with a dmm, also recheked by the local car audio store, the eq i dont think has anything to do with it, its just my clarion 7 band nothings really turn up on that, the subs are wired in parallel, i think its parallel, the positives are bridged on the sub and so are the negatives and there is one run from the amp for positive and one run from the amp for negative. Also i have the big 3 upgrade and another kinetic in the trunk soon to be 2. the hifoncs amp isnt the best amp and ill be switching it for a RF 4000bd soon, but its hitting hard (around the 149 150 range) 149-150dbs? I highly doubt that on what kinda meter what hz where was the meter I dont know wat meter it was, one of my friends and he used to enter his surburban in comps, running 2 solox 18ns with 4 rockford t4000bds so im sure it was decently accurate.
  2. Ding. You put me in a vehicle with subs for 5 mins and I can tell you if they are type r's or not. I had a pair of type r 12's and a type r 10 (diffrent times) they both had a certaint smell to them. I don't know if the other models do but for sure type r's do. Even not clipping. So its just a natural thing that the type r series smell? i dont mind the smell but i dont wanna be bumpin these things and doing damage. i LOVE the way the type rs sound they handle all ranges. and can handle way more than alpine say.

  4. Hi guys, i have 4 type r 15ns running on one hifonics hfi 3000d mono. i Bought all the subs and amp brand new, there is kicker 1/0 power ground for the amp and kicker 4 gauge for the speaker wire, so i don't think its the wiring or amp burning up, but after i play the subs for around 5 mins maybe 10 actually they start to smell, i think its the voice coils but i don't know. The subs are dual 4 ohm bridged to 2 ohms, the amp gains and bass eq are all set up right so there is no distortion. If someone can tell me why it smells and wat is smelling id greatly appreciate it thanks!!
  5. I wanna buy the ring terminals man. Ill give you 10 for them?? How much to ship to 90245
  6. Going to a single turbo can be a good idea. its easy fast and its not hard to tune it correctly and reach max power. But if u switch the exhaust bak to stock you will loose about 30-40% of the power your getting from that turbo. 3.5 inch tubing is big and will be hard to muffle the noise. Id recommend taking it to a tune shop and have them gut your stock muffler and.replace the insides with a more free flowing setup. It will be alottttt more quiet but will deliver the same amount of power (also they cant tell its after .market at referee stations). If you go to a single turbo look up the turbo graphs that best suit your motor, getting a bigger turbo will look cool but you will expierience bad boost lag and not be able to reach the max power that turbo can produce. Make sure to get your pcm tuned after your modification.
  7. Once you pull it apart you will see thhats its not gonna be to hard to rebuild. If i wer u i wud use raybestos clutches and replace all syncros. I dont think there are any specialty tools needed i dont remeber any. Look up torque specs to make sure your tranny wont fall apart. Have fun!!
  8. Getting a throttle body apacer is going to increase the velocity of air going into ur intake manifold which will decrease the time it takes for the a/f ratio to enter the combustion chamber. Cutting material off the intake system shudnt be a problem, the throttle body spacer will. Replace that 3/4 chopp. Also give u better fuel economy and a slight increase in torque. Dont bother adding an intake or tbs unless u have an aftermarket exhaust system. U have to match increase intake u if u dont u will loose power due to exhaust gas restricion leaving the cylinders
