Ok im thinking about buying a 50ft roll of knukoncepts off 1/0 awg and 20ft of there off 8 awg .. 1/0 awg if for the big three and two runs...pos and neg from battery to amp and 8awg is for my speaker wire For that im looking at bout 220$...is knukonceptz worth spending the money on?? I think it's quest that makes a 1/0 awg that is also off and its way cheaper...

No no no definitely did not just do it by looks....i built it for one fi x 12...so I went to fi's sight and found out the cone area of the sub. So my port is 5.75"x13"" which makes 74.75" inches of port area. And I tuned it to 35hz so the port was 8 feet long. Once it was done I put it in and had it like that for about a week. I noticed it seemed like it took more power then it should have to make it hit decent and the lows weren't loud at all. It would shake my mirrors doors back window toof everything but with almost no sound. When I built the box I put the sub at the far right and the port went down the left 26 inches...wrapped back to the right 26...then back to the left 26 and exited facing the same way as the sub and I believe that length was about 18 inches. So wat I did is I cut that 18 inch side off to raise the tuning to roughly 40hz and it sounded way better. Still took quite abit of power. Then I fried the voice coil on the sub lol. I'll post a pic of what the box looked like when it was tuned at 35hZ

I was throwing around box ideas and was interested to see if anyone has built a tline for a 15?? Or if anyone has any suggestions on either staying with a standard ported box or building a tline. From personal experience I built a tline for one twelve and then built a ported box just to see a comparison...results were honestly not much different. Ported box sounded punchier...and depending on the song maybe just a tad louder...but the tline all around played better. Now I could have not done the tline 100% correctly....but it's the first and only one I built. So does anyone have any pros/cons on tlines?? Especially for a skar vvx 15??

Also...when running the wires from the alt...do u disconnect the old ones then put the new ones on or do u just set the new wires on top of the old ones

Ok so the negative wire from Batt to amp...u can run that long of a ground and be fine?? Cuz I thought the ground for an amp isn't supposed to be more then 18 inches away...so would it be better to run the neg from the Batt and the neg from the amp to a seat stud??

Ok I've been doing alot of research on the big three and gonna be doing it to my truck soon and just wanna make sure I got this right so I dont mess anything up.... So you run positive AND negative from alt to battery....then pos and negative to your amp...ground battery and engine block ground to chassis...and ground amp to chassis somewhere in the truck like off a seat stud... Is this right?????

Ok next question...when planning out a ported box...say you want a 2 cubic foot box at 35hz... do u figure out the sub and port displacement and build the box a little bigger so that way when it's all said and done the sub actually has 2 cubes of free air space ...or do u just build a 2 cube box and call it good with what ever free air space is actually there??? Def a noob question I kno but u gotta work out the links to build something good

Ya I could see that. The smaller the port area the shorter it has to be. Isn't rule of thumb for ports...aero 9-12 sq inches per cubic foot. .and slot ports 11-17 sq inches per cubic foot???

ok...i dont want this to sound stupid but im still a noob to porting but that is a huge port...and it dont look like it has any length to it. since length is actually what tunes the box then shouldnt this port be pretty long??? i am definately NOT second guessing steve meade in anyway...but i have just seen ports like this several different times and i dont understand how they work. they just look like a giant hole lol. little help please!

I kno for sure I can push a clean 1200 rms maybe even a little bit more... Does anyone have an idea of wat two vvx 15s would be like. Unfortunately I've never got to hear wat any fifteen set up good does..
