  1. this seems like guaranteed blown woofers. granite they are very well built subs... 5k @ 1ohm is already just over double the rated rms... so a 5k @ half is asking for trouble. hope your voltage will stay in the 14s...and that you have a dd1 to set EVERYTHING cuz clipping one single time could easily blow your 15s. and smaller enclosure isnt necessarily the answer when throwing that much power over whats rated. good luck!
  2. wow. that's impressive. ok I get it now. you really only need 1 of these lol that's bad ass.
  3. what is the benefit of this batt over a regular agm? sorry for the noob question, im trying to learn more about batts.
  4. Lol to be truthful, I had no idea what number it would put up, I was just hoping for 140 lol And honestly no! The amp actually does damn good, but I got pretty decent electrical To handle It. I'm right at the point to where at idle voltage will drop to high 11s, but if I hold 2000 rpms it don't drop under 13.
  5. Ya I have read that people have luck with these in 1.5-1.6 per. And I'm building this new enclosure to where I can move the back baffle in to reduce internal volume. It will be a pain to do but I will be able to do it. I'm just trying different things and seeing what happens. Is easier to start big and shrink from there then it is to start small and build bigger
  6. Damn it I meant louder. And if I was keeping the same box volume I wouldn't expect much of a difference. But I'm gaining about 2 cubic feet of net volume. Which could be either good or bad. Won't know until it's done and I get it metered. These numbers were with a box that was 2.7 cubes net, should have been tuned at about 35. Hit the highs VERY solid, but couldn't do shit under maybe 33. But with the rebuild, I'll be between 4.7-5 cubes net. I'll have a set of aeros tuned low, like 30, just for daily, but they will be removable so I can play with different port areas and tuning on the meter. Huge change in enclosures lol could go either way.
  7. Thank you! Hopefully it's a little lower once this rebuild is done!
  8. It was mine. I tried flipping it around before I rebuilt it and it was quite a bit louder. So I rebuilt it and left it facing forward. So now even I rebuild it again, it will be sealed off facing forward. And I'll have to build everything in the trunk. Will be interesting lol
  9. thank you! cant wait to rebuild it and see how it does.
  10. oops. is it possible to get this moved to the spl section?
  11. pretty happy with this wont lie. 146 @ 46hz at the passenger headrest, driver door open. I guess this It was metered mecca style. ive never seen a meter before this, and don't know anything about competing or anything, I just know what the numbers mean lol and this is without the trunk being sealed off, woofers and port just firing forward. I will be rebuilding it soon 2 lvl 3 m2 12's aq2200 @ .46 in the trunk of a 2013 Subaru wrx sedan. just had to share
  12. ok i get it now. i found the minumum port area equation and spent the last two days figuring it out and the woofers i seen with a single 6" aero just dont require as much port area therefore they can get away with a single 6" aero! and i need at least 40sq in port for my level 3s so a single 6" aero wont work for me. thanks for your help rusty!
  13. But as far as what to tune to...I'll figure that out as I go. If it doesn't catch lows quite like I want them I'll adjust the tuning down. If it's missing to much the higher frequencies I'll adjust the tuning up. I know every sub...placement and tuning is going to give different results. I'm fine with that. My port will be removable so adjusting will be easier. My main question is port area. How much port area won't be enough. A single 6" aero doesn't seem like enough but there are so many people who run a single 6 with a dual 12 setup and don't have problems
  14. That's understandable. Problem is I don't just play down there i kind of play all over. I got stuff in the 20s and I got stuff in the high 40s. I had 2 tens loaded isobarically tuned to 36-37 in 1.4 cubes after displacements with 33 inches of port and they would play down to 27 and never bat a eye at it.
  15. i apologize sir i made some typo's i do not want to use a single 4" aero. i know that is way to small. i just want to see if i can use a single 6" aero. and im planning on tuning at about 36hz. just hoping i can hit down to 27. im thinking about making a 7" octoport port length is down to 18 inches then opposed to 24" in length with an 8" aero
  16. afternoon bump! o and i was wrong. in rustys vid on youtube he used 4 4" aeros.
  17. just wandering how big of a port people recommend for a pair of lvl 3 12s on a aq2200d at .5 i got the box designed right now at 3.3 cubes after all displacements with an 8" aero. most of the port will be external. box will be in the trunk of my 2013 wrx and going to try facing them forward and sealing off from the trunk. i dont compete or anything. dont know anyone with a meter. i was thinking of trying a single 6" aero but idk if that will be enough port area. ive done some research and seen some setups with a single 4" aero for a single 12...and i watched rustys video on hitting 150 dbs and he used 3 4" aeros. i want it to be musical but also be able to catch the lows! i would really like to be able to hit down to about 27hz with authority if possible.
  18. I would hope I'd be ok!! I was running 1300rms in my 94 Dakota 3.9 with stock battery and alternator with no upgrades wat so ever and it didn't do to bad...and only 4 gauge And yes all DIESEL trucks come with two batts.....but mine is just the 6.0l gas so mine only has one batt.
