I have a shit load of space to work with, basically 54 x 42 x 20 and I'm looking to tune it anywhere around 32-35hz with 2 6 inch aeroports. Any ideas on how big it should be? I'd really appreciate it if I can get some help on this box, I just want it to be LOUD and LOW. At first I was thinking VVX 12s or some Obsidian 12s but the 15s price can't be beat so just let me know. And plus the VVX 15 pre orders are 165 so my best bet is 15s and I've seen many Accords fit 15s into them so I know that I'm able to.
is that the size of the trunk???

i wouldnt say its a thermal protection. it would be burning hot mostly if it were.
i would say maybe its just defective. im pretty sure the kicker amps are made on a factory line. could quite possibly be just a small piece broken on the board that you didnt notice.
least thats my guess.
Hmmm....Any idea of what to do with it or probably just scrap it?

also, one of my friends is willing to trade me for a alipine mrp-500 for this. should i trade it or should i keep this and try to sell it to some retard on craigslist? either way im selling it i guess what im asking is what could i get more money for the alpine or the soundstorm.

I ran a soundstorm at 1ohm once. Haha Needless to say it didn't last very long. They don't do their rated power to make a long story short
lol ive been running mine at 1 ohm playing full tilt for hours at a time since ive got it, it gets too hot to even touch out here in 100 degree weather. not gonna lie its just taking it like a champ hasnt even protected once.

ive been given a soundstorm f2500d. anyone know anything about this amp? it has 3 30 fuses it says 1500w rms at 2 ohms anyone know what this actually pushes?

My woofers make 5000 watts.
Many aspects come into play as well as motorforce. There's no 'more cone area will be louder. Look at dbdon doing 162s iirc with only 4 15"s. Some guys aren't hitting that with 6 18s.

I've never really been a fan of kicker either (best buy subs) but i figured they deserve a box and given to the girlfriend (she wants an 18 already lol) but thanks for the advice guys!
.... lol.... a jump from an L7 to a good 18" is a huge difference... she wouldnt know what to do and she would shit her pants =P!
haha she loves seeing steves videos on youtube and tells me all the time i need 4 of them! haha not on my budget.. but she would totally shit lol
get her some xl 12s in a nice ported box and see if she still wants 18s

you could not. what is THE MOST you can spend on an amp? tbh $200 is what you can get a used amp now adays(unless someone just wants to get rid of a good amp. lol)
ehh i might be able to go a little over just show me some amps for around that price. i would say under 300 for sure and it doesn't matter if its used

how good are theses subs? i hear they are the best for the money and really good reviews but never seen one in action. how would 2 12s compare to 1 kicker l7 on 1200 wrms? i know that the OA would sound a hella lot better but how much louder would they be? and i know it will very based on a million things but generally how much louder will it be? also, how good is the customer service for them i know they are a newer company.
