  1. Can you guys give me some box specs on 1 fully loaded SSD10 taking about 1200w? I don't really want the biggest box because that's kind of the point of a 10" to save space, but if it has to be bigger to sound a lot better then that's fine I guess. I'm going to have it custom made, but I don't really know where to go for that either.
  2. Ok, I'll probably get the SSD. Another thing is, when fi says a box's cubic feet for the sub is that with or without displacement?
  3. Hey, for the SSD without cooling and flatwind it won't take 1000w RMS right, but if it's fully loaded it will? Or will it take 1000w RMS as is and then loaded is more?
  4. every time you order a Fi woofer, it has to be built FROM SCRATCH from the time you place the order, hence the wait time. they dont just pick up an already built woofer from the warehouse and have it shipped out like aq does. dont get me wrong, they're both great brands, but im just telling the truth. That being said do you think fi is better quality?
  5. Fi's website is apparently not very secure. It doesn't have https or anything. Another thing I'm wondering on is AQ's subs ship within 24 hours of purchase and fi has to make your sub when you order it and would be like 2 weeks. Does that sound like fi is better quality?
  6. Also what does QTS mean for an option for the fi ssd? Should I get standard or H-Qts sealed?
  7. Well if they can handle the same power. The real questions is that is the AQ worth more $? AQ=229/SSD=194
  8. 1 10" fi SSD or 1 10" AQ HDC3 copper. The amp would be AQ1200d, can the SSD even handle that amp? Are there any major mechanical differences between them? Would one of them be louder over the other on that power? Don't view this as a VS thread because it's not intended like that theses subs have different power ratings and I need to know what would be better for me. Thanks
  9. So there probably won't be a difference with that kid of power?
  10. It would be a waste to get a sub that can take 3+ thousand watts to only put 1200 through it. You would be better off getting a lesser sub and putting the saved money into other thingd 3000 watts RMS? You'll blow both of those subs at that. AQ is rated at 1k and the fi bl is 1.5k.
  11. I might upgrade the amp to a 2000 watt one in a few months.
  12. Can an aq hdc3 take as much power as a fully loaded fi bl? Also what would work better with about 1200 watts going to it? Thanks
  13. oh i see. well its all what you want. if you want to hit the lows with the 1000 rms just get a 15 or an 18. Can you fit? if not go with the 10s. but try the 1 10 to see if its enough. And you could tune lower so you can play it louder at lower hz without bottoming out or breaking ur sub. Well I could have enough the trunk is like 1 foot tall by 4 wide and 3 long, but I would like subs with not a big box, but a lot of noise.
  14. I need a new amp and another battery and a bigger box so that's about 400$.
  15. I'm going to try to get a custom box made, so I don't really know about the box yet. Any suggestions on what I should ask for so I can feel the lows?
  16. You think that extra 10 is worth about 350-400$?
  17. Ok I looked it up and I knew what it was, but wasn't familiar with the term. Also you will be able to feel the lows from a bl 10 right? Or would I have to get a bigger woofer?
  18. I would have a fi bl 10 with a 1000 or 2000 watt amp (havn't decided witch to get yet). The car is a 79 camaro so it doesn't really have an electrical system so what should I get to makes this work? Thanks
  19. I"m looking at a single fi bl 10 and am wondering if I got a 2000 watt amp would that be too much power for it? Also how much is the RMS on a regular SSD and a loaded SSD, it doesn't say on fi's site. Thanks
  20. Aight, I probably have enough space for 2 12s, but these 10s arn't sounding bad at all. Also if i'm running 2000 watts what kind of alt. should I get? Also should I get another battery or two?
  21. 10's can be (and are in alot of cases) LOUDer (not lowd lol) than 12's. That being said the only real difference between the two is the amount of cone area. 2 10's has a cone area of 157.08, and 2 12's has a cone area of 226.19 Now that being said, more cone area is (generally) louder on the same amount of power. Soooo basically it will all depend on what kind of power you are running and the vehicle as well as the type of enclosure you decide to put them in. Like I said, you can get just as loud if not louder with 2 10's as you can 12's Well my other option was to get a single 15" bl. Would the 10s be as loud as that?
  22. Like what? (I'm new at this stuff.) The 12s have more cone area that's why I said they would be louder
