Alright 14v going from the power to ground doesn't necessarily mean a good ground right

Does it mess the amp up or only the head unit?

It's a kenwood, and what do you mean grounding through the RCAs? Never heard of that before, please elaborate (obviously I know what it would be, but why)

I think it might be a ground problem because it turned on when I was moving everything around and the ground may have shifted and got a good connection to the chassis I'm not building for a while anyway but it'd be nice to get everything sorted out before lol

I hooked up my new amp to see if it worked yesterday and it wouldn't turn on, so I metered the power wire and it was sitting at 14.4 volts to the ground and then I metered the remote wire and that was at 13.9 volts so I don't know why the amp isn't coming on. The only thing I didn't check is the RCAs and I don't know how to check them. It's a Hifonics BRZ1700.1D brand new It turned on when I unplugged the left RCA for a second and then turned back off

Ok I've never used an extra battery for car audio before as I've always had low power setups before, but with my new one using past the limit of my stock alt, I'm looking to add 2 batteries My car (2005 Honda CR-V) has a group 51R starting battery, so I'm going to replace the stock with the D5100R One question is, since the starter is reverse polarity, does this mean I have to use reverse polarity with all batteries? lol I bet I'm terribly wrong and it just means the terminals are switched, but just making sure. Also, when I'm wiring up the battery in the back, how do I connect it up? Would it be: Starter battery + to extra batt + Starter batt - to extra batt - ? And would I have to have a 3rd ground coming off of the extra battery? Thanks
