  1. All but one i went to did trophies. The one that didn't did plaques and big ass trophies for the teams that won overall
  2. I know . . . going to order a falcon unit next year. PC GAMES FTW! Vista has to be packaged with any new PC. MS has everyone contractually by the balls, however in a smooth marketing scheme they have not lowered the price of xp. In an even smoother marketing flaw companies do not offer xp drivers for your new laptops. So you are basically stuck with it.
  3. any little bit of bass from the woofers make em flex out. There is no good way to fix it. You can glue up the seals but then the damn window vibrates like a mofo till the glue breaks. On the new truck I'll prolly hire a welder to take out the window and get me some sheet metal in there.
  4. "little" bit of flex there: I do have one layer of dynamat on the roof, 1 layer in each front doors. I have the back passenger windows sealed with 3m adhesive spray (something cheap because the seal keeps breaking!). Other than that I'm waiting to buy a new truck.
  5. my neighbors are vicious too. Hell I went down my road bumpin one night at 11 pm, next night there was a cop sitting on the side of the road at 10 pm. Next day there was a motorcycle sheriff parked in the grass by a tree. I don't know why they don't call the cops on him. I guess his lil setup don't bother em at night. I shake pictures off the wall LOL
  6. I have a neighbor down the road (punk kid) that rolls by my house every night at 11 pm with his weak as system bumping. I think I might find myself parked in his driveway one night with a lil jon cd in hand . . . . I would like a ticket to display but I don't have 100+ bucks to throw away for a piece of paper.
  7. i'm not going to go in there raising hell. I have there f'ing name in bold across the front of my windshield (about to scrape off). I'm going to talk to the owner Friday. There were some good points made here today.
  8. I don't buy any equipment from resellers. All of my product comes direct from manufacturer. But if I have to bring in another 4 channel amp to see if it's the amp's problem I will. I am just highly disappointed in the quality of work they have done for me as of late. Another thing they did was on my box for my 6x9s (in avatar). They put two very small screws in it to hold it down to the box. I got in a 10 mph car wreck and those screws SNAPPED sliding the box forward into my headrest, scratching the vinyl on top of my sub-box all to hell. I went there and told them what happened. After it was all said and done they didn't revinyl my box. They built a "beauty plate", which wasn't so beautiful. The wood was cut short and the vinyl not color matched. At least they bolted the 6x9 box down good. It's not going anywhere but again quality of work and charging me to fix a problem that shouldn't of happened is not my cup of tea. pic:
  9. I expected that the fist time I went up there trying to resolve the issue. Ended up being charged for an isolator and install of it. I'll go up there Friday and see what they say. They hired some new arrogant douche bag to handle the scheduling. I'll try and get with the owner. I hate these 6:30 am to 5 pm work hours but at least I only work 4 days a week.
  10. really though, should I have to pay to fix their bad install? if it is a bad amp or equipment issue I'll get a new one but from what it looks like it was just a bad install.
  11. There is a local shop that did basically ALL of the work/installing in my current truck. Box, wrapping, amps (both of em), cap., alts, etc. I love the shop because it is 2 min from my house and I have spent a lot of time/money there. Now here is my problem. I have an Eclipse EA4000 amp, Eclipse CD3100 headunit, 4 6x9s and 2 6 1/2 in speakers. I have 2 issues. 1st issue is the controls for front/rear speakers do not work, left and right do, but front and rear don't. Everything is going through the front. So if i take front off there is no sound. I would like to be able to control that through the radio esp. with 4 6x9s behind me. I don't want to adjust the gains every time I want em turned up or down. Is this a wiring issue they did wrong? Is it something easily fixable? 2nd thing. I have static. I used to have static and alternator whine but I PAYED them to put in an isolator to fix the issue. I still have static. So here is my problem. Since they did the install and I payed them to fix it . . . should I have to pay to get them to fix my static? I want to maintain a good relationship there and not be known as a "problem" customer but I seriously want to go in there and raise hell about this static problem. I was told by one shop to adjust the gains down, but even with them down there is still static and I spend all this money on a quality product and what was supposed to be a quality install for it not to work right . . . that is a problem. Now how should I approach this shop? Raise hell? Go in nicely and talk to the owner and say hey man I have this problem and explain to him in the same way I just explained it here?
  12. that would be the box if i were doing 4 l7s . . . everything is still up in the air. June 15th is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long away.
  13. I'm trying to avoid a "true wall" I would like to do a box. It would be a lot better for my broke college student budget. Something like g-monk designed me is the direction I'm looking at: but I'm looking at approx. 16 cu foot to work with if I build a box. I want to do a wall, but I don't know how to do it and would have to pay someone to do it. With me trying to pay for school (6k), a truck (2k), and a sytsem (?k) . . . I have to plan carefully for my spending. If I don't do anything with it this summer, it would be next summer before I can attack it again because I go to extreme part time when school starts in August.
  14. i've heard cvxs and i've heard l7s. I really need to find somebody with solo-xs and get a good listen to. I've heard mixed things about them too for daily, but I'm sure done right (which they would be) I should have no problem.
  15. The time for my order draws nearer and nearer and I keep see sawing back and fourth between several things. I'm pretty much made up my mind but am having a few doubts about certain things and I don't want to have one of those "it could have been" moments. First the solo-Xs - How are they for daily. Say if I get three solo x 12s and put a ZX2500.1 on each? Also -The CVRs. I can easily get an ass load of these but I also want to stick to a quality woofer. then the ole L7s (08 models) -prolly gonna be 4 so my options would be roughly 4 l7 15s, 6-8 CVR 15s, 2 Solo x 18s, 3 solo x 12s. Going to be a daily ground pounder and I can roll 2-3 Zx2500.1s WHAT WOULD YOU DO . . . ?
  16. Wake up early to a beautiful day, hauling ass to make it to a competition 2 hrs away in another state. Turns out the competition was not at the time it was listed on the website, so I have to find something to do for 6 hrs. Time finally comes for the competition and it starts to storm with no sign of stopping . . . so they cancel it. Have to drive 2 hrs back in a storm so bad you can't even see the lines on the road. $60 bucks in gas and a waste of 11 hrs of my life . . . . MOTHER FUCK THAT! (I'm sure this won't be the last time but I'M STILL PISSED)
  17. haha i tried my hardest with a flashlight to direct my friend with the fishing pole, we got the keys out faster than we expected . . . but god damn i hate 5 % tint.
  18. tinted windows and the sun going down don't help the situation much either . . . lol
  19. the wood on the box was all rotten and the surround on the subs were falling apart . . . i wanted to hook em up to my zx2500.1 and let her rip but i decided not to . . . will save that for a vid moment. HOWEVER we did run into a redneck/ghetto moment while i was working on the doors. I got the doors back together and shut em . . . locked didn't have a spare key but the back pushout windows were open, so we got a fishing pole and wired a coat hanger to it and pulled the keys out of the ignition by the lanyard and pulled em out the back pushout glasses . . . i was like "we should put this shit on youtube" lol
  20. that was the first thing i LOLed at in person. but for being 30 yrs old idk the style of music back then.
  21. I went to my friends house today to put some dynamat in the doors. This would be my first time working with the stuff. So I got there and his dad comes out to see my box and stuff. Said he used to have 4 12s and says he still has the box from 30 yrs ago. So we go to the shed and take a look . . . lol, I can't remember what brand and can't really read the back from the pic but if I remember correctly they were 200 watts rms. small project: As much of a hack job that it was, i must say I am very impressed with the sound difference adding that was. I was very impressed!
