No the guy had it sitting in his yard and was wanting to get rid of it he was asking $500 obo but my son knows his son so he said he would take $200 just to get it out of his yard.

What are the main things I have to do to get some power out of the 2.2l. non-vtec

The interior is clean also underbody is solid. I'll have to take some more pics later. The biggest issues with it are the drivers door won't latch the ignition it needs ball joints and the window regulator is broke in the drivers door. Can fix all that for a couple hundred.

Yea it runs drove it home but I think it has the ignition problem it stalls when you turn a corner so I took the ignition switch apart looks brand new but when you shake the ignition assembly it stalls and loses power to the dash lights. I think I have a bad connection or something. Yea the lights are coming off!

I'm kind of new to all this I bought a 97 accord and was going to post pics but never used photo bucket before is this the only way to upload pics on here?

I just bought a 97 accord with the 2.2l and was wondering what some of the website for aftermarket parts were. And if there's anybody with an accord on here that they have built I would love to see some pics. And I would like to learn more about them like easiest mods to do ect. I'm a complete noob at this as it's my first import.

Does anyone know if the 2.2l is a zero tolerance engine or not?

I did end up buying the accord today. Sorry no pics today was to busy getting ready for Easter hopefully i can get some tomorrow maybe Monday.

I think there different as far as spiders and voice coils and the surround is stitched on those. Because I know they handle more power. Also they have cooling rings on them

I've been looking online and everyone talks about doing engine swaps I don't really know much about these and was wondering if anyone on here has ever done this and if so what the best engine to swap would be? Or can the 2.2l be built?

I figured as much but haven't had a chance to check the accords I knew the civics did.

I'll have to check the engine code but he's owned it for 6-7 years and has never had a problem and it sounds like he drove it across the country a lot so it seems like all highway miles.

They are different but I think they'll work in the same style with good results won't they?

That's pretty crazy since I was just asking abut a box for my old power reference 12 the other day and the same guy designed a box and gave me the specs also he seems to know his stuff and is nice enough to lay it out and everything.

Yea the guy hit 2 deer in the drivers side front so it needs a fender and it has a dent in the passenger rear fender but a little body work should be looking pretty good the underneath is solid engine fired right up and runs smooth no noises or anything.

I'm going back tomorrow to drive it. It had a flat tire so he's going to air it up. I'll mostly likely be bringing it home maybe have to take some pics.

That's what I was thinking not only that if gas prices get as high as they say I'll be driving it back and forth to work. I was just wondering if the accord was a good car and how much aftermarket stuff is out there.

I looked at a 97 honda accord today runs good has 2.2l with the 5 speed. Not sure if it's a vtec or not it has like 300,000 miles but is still really solid needs a little body work and tlc but I can pick it up for $200. What do you guys think I've never own a import but heard good things about the honda 2.2l.
