I remember when I thought Sony Xplod 6.5s sounded fine, then I thought Pioneer coaxials sounded great. Both of them were "screaming" to me off of deck power because i was use to stock. I'd run neither now, and i would definitely amp future speakers. I'm sure these miss sound great for the price and hopefully I can hear a set soon.

I made a new ground and its doing the same freaking thing... This ground isn't lose either like the last one. I will mess with a ddm tomorrow.
Dang man. I'll do some researching/brainstorming tonight after I finish up some school work too.
-
I am grounded to the frame. Could it be a loose ground. I believe so mikelbolten tuned it with his dd1.
Maybe, might as well check it.
-
Did you tune your amp with the DD-1 with a 0db tone?
-
is the amp actually shutting off when this happens?
No I played it full tilt the sub cut in and out but the power light never went out on the sub and the protect light never came on. The power light did dim quite heavily when it was cutting out though.
Oooh the power light on the amp dimmed! I thought you meant the headlights were dimming when you said that! If I remember right from your build log you're grounded to the frame for the amp right?
-
You said something about turning up my ssf on the amp. Would this fix it? I can make a video if that would help.
Yea I said that. I don't think it'd fix it but you can try. If I remember correctly, SSF's on those Crescendo amps are like a 3db slope or something so having it at about 25-26 hz is what I'd have it at. The reason I said you could turn it up is because woofers can unload playing way under tuning and maybe you have too much power going to it that far under tuning. Know what I'm saying?

I meant low pass haha. Thats the peak frequency right?
Yep... that's what I meant too...... LOL
-
I am back at school so I'll have to flush it up when I get home. I thought I had been hearing something though haha. The subsonic is a 50hz on the head unit I believe and the settings are all flat the sub level is +2 it clips at +3 when tested with the dd1.
I'm just jumping in here..
But, did you mean to say your Subsonic filter is set at 50hz on your HU????????
I saw that, but that is prbably just for his doors. My speakers were toast if I didn't turn the SSF lowpass up on my HU because of all the boosted slowed music I played because they were on HU power. It didn't make my subwoofer any quieter either.
edit: wooops

Unloading is like free airing
The sound output is, what is happening, is not.
Elaborate..

Unloading is like free airing

And to fix it, either turn your SSF up if it's from overpowering/playing way under tuning, or redesign your box probably. But pretty sure your box is fine.. minus the air leak
-
Alert noob question... What is unloading? Well I kinda know what it is but could you explain it? Also how would I fix it?
I may be wrong but I think unloading is just when the woofer loses "control" I guess and doesn't just excurt forward and back normally? So when you play under tuning this can happen easier. The cone kind of flaps lol
-
The lights dimmed but could the sub be cutting out because of the air leak?
I don't think it'd cut out from an air leak, but like Snow Drifter said maybe its unloading? I still don't get the clipping light on the knob though. I've heard they weren't always accurate too by the way.
-
Well fix the air leak lol. What are the settings on your HU?
