I'm looking to for a 300-500ish rms amp to power an SA-8 in my dorm. What's the price range I'm looking at and I am not looking to spend much money at all.

after i saw the amount of resistance i eliminate when i do a negative run from battery to amplifier, there´s no way i´ll ever ground an amplifier to a bolt or the frame, just saying that´s a very nice choice you can make
How long was your ground from the amp to battery though?

Portland, of course. But I just figured I'd check online if someone had a used one they didn't want so I didn't need to have someone make one.

No all speakers are powered off the HU. and no we haven't tested any, he doesn't live near me so I can't really help.

I just texted him and he said the stereo WORKS with the Jeep running, but there is NO sound.... Hmmm.

oh. well thats a good point! is anything else not working or just the deck? if its just the deck tell him to find a good switched power and get one of these.

So I sold my Jeep to someone last week and they gave me a call last night. He said that the stereo only works with only the battery on and when he turns the actual ignition on and starts the car no sound comes out of the speakers/stereo doesn't even work I don't remember which.
I have never heard of something like this and it's never happened to me. Got any ideas of what it could be?

Maybe the deck doesn't have enough voltage to turn on both amps. Try putting the remote into only one amp and see if it turns on.
