i have that same cap and it does not work it just helps a bit to run my power seats, my voltage droped to 12V with just 5 seconds of music. get agm batteries, i did and now i dont go bellow 14.01v
-
those are pretty good numbers. the hfi dont give rated rms so maybe 150+ with a better amp. now post a video to please us here
-
im not getting mine till wednesday
-
i get no dimming with HID light
-
well you need to set the knob where you think you will be listening to and adjust from there. thats how i did it
-
why get a 200a alt when you dont need it, your car will do just fine with only the HU thats what the stock alt is good for,no it wont damage your electrical since it will only produce the amparage needed for your electrical
-
i wouldnt be surprised if the shop charges you 700 to do it

blowgh through FTW

you also dont get trunk rattle if you seal that box good, people like to showoff rattle but that really takes from your sounds

Here is my setup:
Amp: DD M3a
Sub: Single 12" DD 9512h
4.6 cu/ft
(2) 6" Aero Ports
Tuned to 35hz
Subs and ports are currently firing out towards the trunk
How much of a difference in pressure would I be able to feel in my car if I were to fire the sub and ports towards the inside of my car? It pounds hard and gets low like a mofo...I like the way it sounds now, but I would like to "feel" massive amounts of airflow blowin' thru my car lol
you can make a blow through for your car

I was talking to a friend about the dd-1 one today and he asked me a good question. Say you have an amp that does 3k but you only want to push 1k with it... How would you set the amp with the dd-1? Now I know how to do it with a DMM but not the DD-1. Any Ideas?
who would buy a 3k amp and only run it at 1k, its a waste of money to me, get a smaller amp or bigger subs, my pick bigger subs
-
i did 0 gauge and did the same thing so now i have 2 batteries back and will be upgrading my alt as soon as i get it, even if you charge the battery you will keep having the problem, just get a bigger alt and problem solved
edit: the batteries at back are kinetik hc2400 2 of them so we know its not the XS battery that is causing your problem
-
just clamp it and put a load on the alt (turn everything on and play at full tilt)and you will see the amp go up, and no the fuse cant hurt the alt. its the other way around if you dont have it and you have a short somewhere it could mess up the alt.
-
To test the alternator output use a current clamp meter around the alternator + lead.
Turn on whatever your load is and read the output in amps.
-
do you have an amparage meter? try using one and see what is the output on the alt. i dont even get that bad of a voltage from my stock alt running a brz2400, i do have 2 kinetik hc2400 though
edit:i would get 10.8 volts on my other truck with a stock 40a alt and would drop to 9v with everything on and making everything shut off.

the l7 where not built around SQ. i know how they sound, i own 4 of them, fosgate sounds cleaner by far. i still like my l7's though
-
they have more cone area and can get loud but it dont sound clean, but for the price i would get them

hey guys a guy i work with says he has a mojo 5kw amp he will sell me for a good deal. but i was wondering if they actually make/made a 5kw amp and if any one has specs on it and what are they worth. he said he has never used it just took out of the box for display in his shop. also if its a good deal or can get it for a good deal would it be fine to put a fi bl 12 on it. i want to buy one from this paycheck and one next. so if this amp is in good condition what should i pay for it and would it be fine to run 1 12 at 1ohm on it.
edit: also what size wire would you recommend to run for this amp or a Hifonics HFi2000D 2000watts rms at 1ohm.
the HFi series are no good, get a brutus bzr 1700 or the 2400

okay my epicenter is not distorting and re did everything and got it dialed, now i think one of my subs is going out, was hearing scratching sounds even before the amp clipped.(yes tested with subs plugged in) i did notice the other sub making bad scraching sounds once the amp distorted so i went a bit less because of the bad sub till the sound coming out was clean. thanks guys and i think i will be getting rid of my EQ now since it sounds better without it and can only make my stuff distort if i adjust up
DD-1 FTW

I have the same amp. Check and make sure your input sensitivity isn't jacked up. Are you using the remote gain knob?
i dont use the bass knob on my amps, and lowered everything on my amp. do you think the epicenter can be the problem? the epicenter knob was all the way down but the little gain buttons are up
edit: i was also running that amp daily with bad cliping for months and was getting bad smell from subs thats why i'm upgrading my audio and just waiting on subs to get built
Use the DD-1 on the Head unit Only. Set you HU where you get the "most" out of it. Then use the DD-1 after the Epicenter. Set the epicenter where you get the most out of it before clipping / distortion. Then set your amp. Done. If it is for crap after the Epicenter, then there is your issue. You very well could be over powering the RCA input on your amp from your Epicenter.
i will plug the rca coming from epicenter to the DD-1 and try it
i'm a freaking noob, i just noticed i forgot to lower the EQ on the bass side, i did the HU and the highside on eq but left the bass one up, that could be the problem too
-
Why are you lowering setting before your amp just to turn your amp up? You must have a thing for added noise into your system...I will never understand why people worry about how high or low their gain is set. You had your amp gain set too high before and now it is set correctly. You are no longer hurting your subs every time you play your music.
now i dont hear my subs till i get to 20 on my volume

today was the day i decided to tune my head unit and my amps and after many atemps i am not pleased with my bass amp. my head unit distorts at 34 of 35 on track 1 and 33 of 35 on track 2,I then changeged to track 7 and started to tune my amp i notice it distorts at less then half the gain. i then lowered all my amp eq an was able to go a bit higher. does everyone have this problem or do i have a bad amp? its a brutus BZR2400 and now my highs sound louder and over powering my subs with a MTX 600 watt amp lol

check to see if you have clean grounds, what was working months ago might not work now since rust can build up, also check if the alternator is grounded correctly. it might get just a bit to show you are charging but not enough to charge correctly
