  1. I've heard if tuned right they are the way to go. Good range and numbers.
  2. You think so? Even a 4th order is hard to tune? I was just wondering because I've heard of people getting really good results with 4th and 6th orders.
  3. Would a 6th order be possible. I may do a new box soon for better numbers so just looking at ideas. Anyone have any ideas or tips?
  4. Dang man I just got back from there like a week ago. I'm usually chilling at our local shop in town it's called augophonics it's in rocky mount nc.... so it's probably out of the way but if you pass by here on the way let me know and I will definitely give you a demo. I only have one 18 right now though but I keep adding stuff check out my build log it's in my signature
  5. Where is it in Tennessee? We have nspl here in nc I believe but our season is almost over and I haven't been able to compete yet... plus I really want to hear your truck I've heard that everything sounds so clear and clean in it and the build looks amazing too and very clean.
  6. Dang man I live like and hour from Raleigh I'd give you a demo if I was closer... And x2 about sbn but it's going to be like a 14 hour drive for me...
  7. Just wondering about a 4 order box for this sub. Could it be done? Would it be louder on the meter and still musical? I've heard lots of great things about 4 order boxes great frequency range, more flex, better spl... plus I've started to chase numbers too haha but I love listening to music on my current box it's not as loud on the meter as I hoped but it is tuned lower also so keep that in mind. So what I really would like to know is a 4 order going to play as low as my current box but be just as loud if not louder? Could I please get input and help on this maybe even some designs? Thanks guys
  8. I'm looking for a pair of matching motors preferably 18's. I'm eventually looking to run 4 18's so just hit me up and let me know what you've got. Thanks guys.
  9. I'm looking for 2 fi bl motors the old style not ufo style with the cooling option I've found another for the current 18 I run and I need an exact match I plan on running 4 18s in the future. Here is what the motor I'm looking for looks like.
  10. Dang this guy speaks the truth thanks for sharing man!
  11. level 4xl, 5, 6, 5K, and 9K shipped to 27809
  12. Is there anyway to modify this box to see some gains? Its braced and fiberglassed on the inside too
  13. Glad I could help out man. Anytime you need some help on somethin just shoot me a text and we will get it done. The big 3 will not be a problem at all. just have to get use to soldering and after that your good. I think once that voltage stays 13.8v+ you will see near a steady 2k rms. I'm going to upload the pics of the box design below. Got to get them on photobucket and ill upload them shortly. -James Thanks for uploading my box design man the only difference on there is that the port width ended up being 6 inches right? which tuned it from 32 hz to 30hz
  14. Honestly the one here hasn't had it long and they had some registration problems with it but I got a cheaper run because of that XD
  15. I'm not able to post up any pics right now I got a video of the first run but you can only see the 141.8db everything else is kinda hard to see.... I'm going to mess with it some though and try for a better score.
  16. id probably try putting a sundown audio sticker on the window first, before you spend all that money. it will make you 30 points cooler and give you 15db, which is well worth $5 for the sticker. Haha yet I don't run sundown but that may help... If I put kicker comp stickers I'd hit 180dbzzzzzz haha I've thought about maybe trying to design a removable port or something like that. Is there anyway I could mess with the current box you even think deadening the roof wouldn't help because it looks mad. my roof is going crazy plus it doesn't sound great outside either because of that...
  17. Anyone have any tips on getting louder?
  18. john253a he is a member here. It is also tuned to 30hz though which is low my next box when I go for two 18s or a bigger 18 I will make a removable port for numbers I think the tuning is killing me... well that and the lack of deadener the guy at the shop said I could be losing an easy 3 decibels from all the rattling which could be the case when I first deaden my trunk I notice that it got louder it sounded loud that was just by ear with a 10.
  19. Well I want to compete so is that not bad for competing? I like just giving demos too though but like everybody I want to get louder. your sure electrical wouldn't help? my voltage dropped to about 11.8 maybe even a little less on stock electrical but it was only for a few seconds and the amp will push more power with steady voltage going to it most amps are rated to 14.4 volts right?
  20. Thanks so much man couldnt have done it without your help man. The electrical will definitely help and you'll have give me some pointers on the big 3 haha
  21. My local shop has a termlab so I was curious what my system would hit. I have a 2002 nissan xterra with a hybrid psi/fi bl 18, crescendo bc2000 wired all to one ohm in a little more than an 8 cu ft box tuned to 30hz. Well I metered 141.8 for my peak and that was on stock electrical. I am purchasing an xs3100 soon and doing the big 3. Also I will sound deaden my roof, my trunk is already deaden but I will be deadening the trunk even more with some great stuff to make it heavy. But anyway was that a good number with all those factors in play?
  22. I'm upgrading my electical so I'm looking for a xs3400 battery or a stronger battery to minimize voltage drop. Thanks for looking.
  23. Oh its fine then I have to build it today after work for a show this weekend the port goes back and makes an L right?
