  1. Steve, I ordered mine last Sunday. Haven't gotten any kind of confirmation or tracking number. Do you know when it will be sent out?
  2. I don't really need all that power so I wanna see if I can get something a little cheaper.
  3. Damn I kinda figured. Do you know of any .5 ohm stable amps to push it? I currently have a Power acoustik bamf 4000/1d that is 1 ohm stable but I dont wanna risk frying it.
  4. Is there any way to wire this sub to 1.5 ohms? Its dual 1.5 VC. I have it at 3 ohms right now because I dont wanna go under an ohm in parallel.
  5. I am trying to purchase it. I put in the code which gave me the discount but I can't figure out to upgrade to 2nd day without it charging extra. Or are you sending it out 2nd day on all ground orders?
  6. I think I remember seeing that now on the site. I have heard of the oscope way but didnt know which would be easier and would be capable of helping me with all the settings and not just the gain
  7. As far as the amp, it was suggested as a cost efficient but still well rated amp. I'm currently using a power Acoustik BAMF 4000/1d. I don't have a whole lot to spend and I'm not looking to win comps, just want a good reliable amp. As for the DD-1, where can you get it and what is it? I tried googling it but didn't get any results
  8. Whats your guys opinion on the db drive pd 2000 to push two 12" Type X? Im not looking to win comps, just trying to make a loud daily system. I'm also new to trying to tune amps. Not sure what the correct procedure is but I just kinda tweak stuff till it sounds good to me. Gains I have on my amp are; LPF, Subsonic, Bass EQ, and Gain. Could you guys give me a basic idea of tuning if possible and what each control does? I obviously know gain. But just a elementary definition of each would be helpful. To me it seems like subsonic basically limits the excursion of the sub, if its turned up it seems like the sub will have less travel and be quicker, where its the opposite when turned down. Also port tuning when it comes to box building, how is that accomplished?
  9. Thank you everyone for the feedback! carlosg_313 - As far as T-line, I figured the size of it would be a problem. I will try to get measurements as soon as possible but I really dont think T-line is going to fit. Bacy2k - I will try to get measurements as soon as possible on outer dimensions. I basically took the specs from Alpines website and doubled it to make two boxes, I think the only change was port length if im not mistaken. new guy - Read above ^^ lol Whats your guys opinion on the db drive pd 2000? 10. I currently have two 12" Alpine Type X in a ported box that I tried making to Alpines specs on their website. It was my first build so I know I made some rookie mistakes like forgetting to put the 45 degree pieces in the port corners. But I personally think they dont sound nearly as good as they should, whether its the Power Acoustik BAMF 4000/1d that im using to power them or the box I made I dont know. I have been getting some negative feedback on the amp and am looking into possibly getting a db drive pd 2000.1 (input on that would be helpful too). But I want to make another box regardless. As I said I am inexperienced but I have heard lots of good things about T-line's and 4th order, but the only issue is space. I have a 2001 Malibu. Any help on deciding what to build and dimensions would be great. I read the pinned t-line thread but dont know if it will fit. But if a t-line or 4th order wont work I would be willing to do another ported now that I know some of the rookie mistakes I made. Please let me know what advice or opinions you have and the more specific the more helpful it would be, thank you!
  11. Is it pretty efficient? Because I notice the BAMF likes to kinda drown out after it heats up
  12. I currently have a power Acoustik BAMF 4000/1 but am looking to upgrade to something that is a little higher quality without breaking the bank. Let me know what you have through pm, thanks!
  13. Well yeah if you can get me the port dimensions I would appreciate it. I wanna look into either building this or possibly a t-line box
  14. Okay thank you. Also, the seats fold down in the 2001 Malibu's
  15. Also did you have them facing the seats or trunk? And any type of dynamat or anything?
  16. Thanks a lot for the info! What's the specs on the ports?
  17. Thanks, ill look into that! Could you send me a download link?
  18. Roger that...or a 4th order, now that is an idea to achieve clean bass and still hit them lows! Lol, I probably sound stupid but I have heard of a 4th order bandpass box, have no clue what it is or how to build one
  19. Like I said i'm new to the whole box building realm lol. I don't know the basics of port tuning or how to achieve the frequency i want.
  20. Now with them being SQ subs and if that was the route I was going, would it be optimal to put them in a sealed enclosure?
  21. I would be keeping the amp. I have the subs wired to 1 ohm and the amp bridged
  22. I have 2 12" Alpine Type X subs powered by a Power Acoustik BAMF 4000/1 in a 2001 Malibu. I built a box to Alpines listed specs and I dont think they sound nearly as loud as they should. To me, the 1" width of the port looks small but I am not really familiar with box building and what adjustments can be made to get specific tuning and how to get more SPL. I was hoping that maybe someone has built a box to make these sound good and can help me out some! I attached a pic so you can see what I did, I know its nothing pretty. Thank you
