I am dealing with the same crazy stuff in my truck. I have changed all kinds of parts and not fixed the problem. My next part test is going to be the Idle Air Controller (IAC). Then a throttle position sensor if the IAC doesn't fix it.

Definitely fuse the runs. The voltage regulator on my 200amp Alt. ruined my Optima when it went out. My alt started pushing 18.6 volts to the battery. Yes an Optima can can blow bubbles.

WOW!!! I remember that car. When I heard it I was so impressed I almost creamed myself. Most of the Bass systems around that time were mini trucks with snug top shells and the bed was full of subs firing up. In the early 90's it used to be parked at an audio express quite often. IASCA used to still be in PHX back then and we had double point DB drags sponsored by Alice cooper.

If your that determined to test/hear before you get the Fosgate. Test each sub one at a time on the good channel of the amp. Obviously the amp does not like load its seeing. I know the specs of your box. It doesn't sound like they are bottoming out.

Here are 2 Rockford Fosgate 8's in a ported box tuned to 35hz. Right now they are powered by a MTX 2120 bridged to 200w @ 4ohm. 1 of the subs is a dual 4ohm wired to 8ohm and the other sub is a single 8 ohm. They are wired together for a 4ohm load to the amp. The crappy video is from my phone. The subs sound great, but need more power. My weekend didnt go as planned so the fosgate 500.2 amp did not get installed on them yet.

The 350z is about to be payed off. Of course both 79 and 96 chevy trucks are paid off. Thing is, all of them are toys/projects. Its time for me to get a good gas mileage daily commuter. Plus I can fit at least 2 dogs in a Scion XB at a time with the back seats folded down (Danes/Mastiff). Any opinions out there about XB reliability?
