i need ported box to but dont know were to start on about tuneing, and am in nc also, anyone want to come up n help? i got hella tools and can get sheats of 4-5x8 3/4 sheats of bearch at a good deal, i like my sealed downfire i built but i wanna try my hand at a ported box n would like someone close by that acually knows what the hell there doin with good tools to help me on tuneing n what knot i got about 2000+ router bits, 2-3 table saws, 4 jig saws, 2 bandsaws, 4 routers, a big router press(one with foot pettle), little router table, all kinds of sanders, 50gal 180psi 5hp air compressor, 2-3 pancake air compressors, drill press, milling machine, 5-6 chop saws, just to make it short i got tools mayne lol, but want someone to show me how to use em, dads always at work n moms not able to help lift ish, i got a couple hvlp sprayers for paint n what knot, i got the tools and a lil knolage on how there work but none at the tuneing of a ported box at a givein air space, this has to be custom with a set of 6&1/2 coax's and a set of 8's in the back with tweets for rear fill, i can do it sealed like nobodys buisness but ported i dont kno so much, any nc ppl wanna help a brotha out? my truck is a 1999 toyota tacoma excab 4x4

ya, i just inverted em due to cause i didn't have time to cut the holes bigger, but it still sounds awesome, the subs are soundstream rfw-10, i think the older ones because the surround dont look as tall but tame #'s on magnet, there 10's and say 500rms but dont have push terminals, there screw terminals, but have same basket http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=16595

lol, this aint my system tho, its in my friends car, but ima work on it tommrow and recut the sub holes and mount em normally n see how it sounds, i was thinkin with the subs regular wont air be forced into the pole piece to cool it? i always thought due to no backpressure on the motor it wont stay as cool inverted, and its ran off a stock headunit with a line out box for now till she gets a cdplayer, still sounds good as hell tho,ima run some speakerwire from my truck to her car n see what them 10's can do with there full rms

thats what i was thinking, they look sexy as hell inverted to, the basket looks alot better than the cone imo, and i had to do it this way due to "i didn't want to take the time to cut the hole bigger for them to fit the other way," but anyways still kicks ass for what it is

do you wire em in reverse if there inverted so that they act as if there still in the box normally?

reboot n keep hittin either f9-f10-f11-f12 repedaly and it will boot into system restore, but depends on the comp also? and what kinda windows?

if u give that box designer the tuneing u want, will it determin the lingth, width, hight of the port, if u give it the outer dementions? i want to do a ported box for my 8000's and dont have the fogyest idea how to tune a port due to box volume

i think my alt is about to take a shit on me, i was checkin my voltage the other day n one break yo ankels - e40, my voltage went from 14.4 to 13.8 and it started makeing a wierd racket so i unno, ima try to see if this local alt place will rebuild it with bigger brushes and what knot to get it to 140amps istead of 70 stock

ied do a downfire, just make sure its atleast 2-2.5'' off floor for airflow and u'll be good, or just fiberglass the back sides, thats what my buddy did ina 4runner, and worked out pritty good

well my pioneer 680 does to 62 but my 860 just goes to 40 and with the 680 haveing 2-4v preouts, and the 860 haveing 6.5v preouts so just 40 levels of volume is good, now u can go to 62 on volume without any distortion if u got the LOUD adjustment set right, with it set to high it will distort like hell, but with it set to mid, or low with the SLA set to 0 it will play smooth all the way from 0-62, but the thing is, my 860 has so much power from the preouts i cant turn my memphis pr 150.2 up to 2 knotches on the gain befor its so damn loud it over powers my bass, i guess 6.5v preouts ftw, but my 680 is ok i guess, i think it has more to do with the amps u run than anything else, the thd% output has alot to do with it, and adjustments, my headunit has so much shit on it that i dont kno how to use its unreal, i need to get a good 4ch to run my mids n highs from and use my 150.2 for midbass so i can use the adjustments on it to set each indevidual speaker to a certian spot lol i just like pioneer because all of the other cdplayers ive had didn't have enough adjustments on the eq, ever alpine ive had only had a bass and trebble with some other shit on it that i dont have a clue what did, ima just stick to the ones i kno best, and i like pioneer to, but i just play around with my headunits to see what they do

umm, wire the dual 4 to 2 and just wire one of the dual 2's coils? to get 1ohm? or wire the dual 2 to 4 n the dual 4 to 2 and get a 2ohm load? i dont see how it would matter much, just dont go to low on the amp, ive done it befor

is this still forsale and how low will u go on it? can u do 80 cash? i need another ipod because i dont kno how to sync my music with this comp so i'll use one with this and one with other, i already have a 120gb ipod but another is always good to, so what cha think?

lol, pioneer FTMFW! , i got it to work again with a little bit of hard pushin on the faceplate to help it bend, i think the sproket was stuck or somethin but it works fine now, and i reset everything just for the hell of it and man, this thing sounds kickass, mids n highs sound perfect, and subs omg i didn't think they was that damn loud, i aint use to 6.5v preouts so i reset all my amps and damn if it aint like a brand new system, when ied turn it up volume only goes to 40, and when ied get to 15-20 it would be loud as shit but wouldn't get no louder up so i kept turnin bassbost n gain back down n it got alot louder and cleaner sounding, this headunit is worth every penny i spent on it, a $600 headunit for $250 almost brand new lookin ftw!, i wish someone had more experence with these things cause its got hella features that i dont kno what do really, and how do i set it up for a active setup? it has 3 outputs that can be ran full active or passive w/e it is without external xovers, but anyways the only drawback is it dont show the full title of a song or what knot, anyone kno how to get it to do this?
