  1. Ok. so I had a work meeting with JL Audio. Now they are saying any system in a car lowers horse power and lowers gas mileage. Now horse power idk mine stayed the same. Gas mileage also stayed the same. And I am running a Rockford Fosgate t2500bd. At 2 ohms its rated at 2,850 watts continuous. And before that I had around 3000 rms. And I never seen a difference in gas mileage. I have a 03 focus with the 4 cyl sohc 122cid engine. I get on a full tank average of 335.25 miles on a full tank. So, what's everyone's opinion on this? JL audio blowing smoke or is it for those who have high power equipment or bad electrical/crappy engines?

Is this the sub that you are getting? If so, it is a good filler sub (I like to call em. Not to loud but sounds good on the in-side.) I carry these at my shop and if ya set it up right they sound good. Do not try to over power or push close to there max. We found that running 600-700 watts is there sweet spot.

  3. i LOVE interior flex, ill try out my Drift helmet camera to see if it catches my flex, too bad i dont have a rear view anymore.. that thing went craazy lol

I never had a camera that caught it. My dlsr did. But, was not going to be holding that while bumping. What kind of drift helmet ya got? I hear people talking about those pro-hd cameras that are meant for mounting outside or inside cars to record.

  4. I know different brand but I heard the mtx audio 15" then the 12" version and the 12 sounded better. Did the same with the rockford fosgate t1 subs and the 15" sounded better. So, guess it would be up to you. The box and the correct tuning and all play a big part in the "slam" you get. Tune it right and either one will slam. Probably not as hard as your wanting. But it will hit.

  5. bleed the block with that shit up...your ears will adjust to it after awhile...honestly its probably not that loud...your just not used to it...

Nothing you can do. I drive daily bumping. Times where my radio is tuned up to 30 which on a termlab I was hitting 135db. To me it feels good. Probably need to get use to it. Or like you said need to make your treble not as loud.

is 135db loud to you?...just wondering

To some its loud. I am wanting louder. To me thats nothing. Especially to a lot of the set-up on here. I am slowly rebuilding after having to sell a lot of it. It use to be louder.

  6. hahaha, this is fairly old but he made that video because of something i said about their amps being of poor quality. of course he used his top of the line amp that costs well over $1,000 and i was talking about the low-mid level amps lol.

that guy works at US amps btw

I never heard of us amps... Take it they are crap?

  7. Idk. If those was the wires coming out of the amp. Then why when he connected the wires to the clamps the speakers not work till he messed with something out of sight??? Either way, cool and all. But, sure in hell not doing that with my amp. That has to be sending some sort of back feed to that amp.

  8. No offense to you, your shop, or the brands you carry. But jl is for the don't knows. The do knows, like us, know that we can get the same woofer, if not better, for a quarter of the price. Don't get me wrong, ive heard the w7, it's an awesome woofer, but I'd rather get kicked in the nuts by Santa Claus before I pay that ungodly retail price.

couldnt agree with the c-fizz more...

Yea. I knew someone would say something along this lines. Jl thinks with there technology they have is better then others. Suming up what they say at there product trainings. Like c-fizz said the do knows, know you can get the same to better product for half the cost. I think its funny how the training meetings go for Jl. I always have a good laugh at em.

  9. I forgot about that bond stuff. Had a customer talking about it the other day too. Have to find somewhere that sells it now. Debating on that light. Think for the time being, I will use that silicone. Thanks for the info. Still after I do this I will get some seat foam that I have from a custom seat a friend did and put that on after the silicon dries.

  10. I would say he didnt know what he was doing. It is a bad thing to weld something like that. Makes it more expensive most the time to properly fix it. I think your best bet is to talk to friends, family and call around to shops. Someone has to know someone or be willing to help ya out. I know how it feels to be low on money and things go wrong and no money to fix. To me it looks like it was poor install.

  11. I put a new latch on for the trunk and the lid stop rattling. But now the other parts on the lid rattle. I will have to try that. I just dont want to use that spray on foam just incase I leave the brake light in and I have to change bulbs. I think I have some new foam left for when I helped a friend make custom seats. Could put it between the trunk lid supports and the back of the light/emblem. Should be able to squeeze it in there.
