i cant access the rockford fosgate forum and ebay there all new i want one a lil cheaper
yea ive looked on ebay, they are pretty dam expensive, id rather buy a nice used one from som1 here..
-
ill be honest i just got it all installed and workin and well for my first sub it SLAMS my sable haha i fuckin love it haha, ou gotta love that feeling when u finally get somethin like this up and running after a long ass time.....i couldnt stop smiling....im actually still smiling
very nice man, i know what you mean
-
In my old car yes there was actually since you are only going to need like 15 to 20 ft of wire per run and that wire sale was for 100 ft of wire i would just run the extra
ok, if i run that xtra, do i still need to ground to the frame? and since im using the xtra battery back there should i just run my amps off that one? and another stupid question, when i connect it to the battery, that battery and alt is gonna charge the other battery right? i dont need to do anything else then run power and ground
-
badass
yea that thing looks pretty sweet
-
To be honest i dont know when i was doing my first install ever that is what i was told to do so thats the way i do it i have however do it that way also were you just ground it to the frame
was there any difference from when u run the xtra ground opposed to just grounding to the frame?
-
On Kinetiks website they say it can be mounted in any position so ya sideways is fine
ok, and like the guy a few spaces above me said, if i have to ground it to the frame rails, why do i have to run a ground to the battery and use that much more wire
-
hes not that interested in be loud...just wants a little something
so does that mean he wants to keep stock door speakers, are they good enuf? cause he could get a nice smooth bass set up for a couple hundred, nothing to BOOMY but nice
-
well, for $600 i say 4 Memphis M3's in a 4th order bandpass for music or a 6th order for burps.
amplifier is in the air.
i hate bodykits on most anything cause it looks pretty rice.
EDIT: we have a local guy running 4 m3 12s and memphis 4kw i think and is mid 150s on the termlab legal.
600bucks isnt much for a complete sound system, it can be done, but he shouldnt expect anything super, you can get a lvl 4 dc sub for around 250, an amp on ebay to power it for 100 bucks (350) speakers on ebay for maybe another 150 (500) and 100 on a deck? or keep stock deck and spend 100 on a treb amp, kinda tough to do it all with 600 bucks, i kno i couldnt, lol
-
Since its a sealed battery thats why i put them in our quads and ya you can mount it upside down if you want to
well if it can be mounted upside down, im pretty sure it can be mounted on its side, lol
-
what's the use of running a ground from the front to the back if you only gonna ground the rear to the frame anyways. the frame and body are common ground so wouldn't you be wasting wire?
thats what i thought, i figured i only needed to run a power, put the fuses, and ground it out there, but idk
-
I would hope they can be laid down because i jump 20 ft in the air side ways and shit
lol same on our quads, but i didnt wanna take chances so i put a gel battery in
-
definitely go with the kinetik, you should be able to lay any of those down.
ok, thanks!
-
Ya i think you should be fine with just that back battery
ok, and can that battery lay down on its side, i just looked, i dont have room for it to stand up, so i would have to lay it down and hope it fits
-
What kind of battery do you have stock it should be enough if for some reason it isnt enough you can put a Kinetik 1400 or whatever will fit up front but you should be just fine
its stock battery, stock alternator, if my lights dim with the 2nd battery then i can just upgrade the front battery, and if that dosnt help, a better alt should
-
Well for that i would recommend this its small and is really strong hell i even have one in each of my quads this check out the stats on that one if not they have ones that just get bigger from there
can i lay that down? and will 1 of those, with my stock battery and alternator be ok? if i use the 2/0, do big 3 and yea yea
-
with 2/0 you should be fine
ok thanks, and is there like a strong slim battery any1 knows of i can fit under the seat of my truck? i dont have room behind the seat or really anywhere else, thx
-
I wouldn't say the Knu stuff is any better. It's tinned copper not 100% like the welding stuff is.
I just ordered 100FT of 4/0 from Coppercableman.
ok, i dont think i wanna go that BIG how will the 2/0 work in my situation for what i need?
-
Ya you will still need to ground the rear battery and i think that those fuses will be big enough but it all depends on what wire you end up getting here is another wire thats cheap and isnt as good as the Knukonceptz fleks but is going to be bigger than the 1 gauge welding cable you have posted Klm this can use up to a 250 amp fuse
so the knu 1/0 is better than the welding 2/0?
-
I think thats the same seller that bill got the 4/0 wire from for his wifes truck.
will 2/0 be good enuf for a rockfor t1k and a rockford 800.4 and for the big 3 and for the xtra battery?
-
Here is a rough sketch i just did yes you can just run one from the front battery if you want to but make sure that you have a very good ground for the back battery
so even if i run the ground to both batteries, i should still ground out on the frame rail on the back one, and will those 2 200 amp fuses work?
-
you probably can get about 135+ w/ that setup...anything can happen...but i am doing 135.2 on MUSIC sealed with the TL on the dash with a single 15" audiopipe sub on 900wrms with a cheap "prefab" box...this is my temp setup...and also im doing 136.1 on a tone burp...btw i have a minivan
very nice
