i'll explain a battery is made up out of 3 components witch are a plastic case, metal plates and battery acid. the plates are placed in the container with a space between every plate. then the container is filled with acid. when the battery hold a current (12v) the plates will stay straight and keep their spacing but if a battery dies its plates have warped and one or more are touching each other. then the battery no longer holds power. so you could buy a million dollar battery but if it isn't kept up to it's charge it will die sooner of later
