  1. ok so heres the deal, i came up with what i thought were good dimensions, built the box, and tada tuned waaaaaaayyyy too high i guess. finally got to get torres and punched in the specs per side ( divided box, both sides ported) and when i punched in the specs 60hz is what i got. i want mid 30s. this one has 16in tall by 6in wide port. this one i come up with after using torres 16in tall by 3 in wide give me 36hz what im trying to figure out is if there was any way to modify the box i just built to be tuned right
  2. DDs(digital design) from what ive heard are good subs. You could also look into RD or Atomic and see if they are in your price range.
  3. wow i love it i can do that no problem. can you get those type of ports at lowes
  4. i used .25 as a reference but my sub is basically identical to the 15" RD Alpha v.2 and it says .31 for it
  5. ME+REDBULL+GOOGLESKETCHUP=CRAZY STUFF HAPPENING
  6. i know i need serious help with this thing
  7. i came up with this. if i dont get help by end of tomorrow im going ahead and doing this. and i need to know in one of the pics the bottom is white, is this what is the air space for subs, all the rest you see is port. basically 2 boxes in 1.
  8. any designs with the space i have and these parameters i will consider. i dont understand what all that stuff means, im new to this.pictures of port design with dimensions will help alot.
  9. these are the specs for box design from atomic for my subs All displacements for port and driver already figured. All power measurements are for cone displacement, on sealed designs and port noise on ported designs. 10. ok this is what i come up with, port is 5in off back wall, shrunk the extention parts down 5in to compensate for the extra i had to go back. port is 16.75in long with 7in extentions off each side. comes out to be 2.68 cubes after displacement of subs.
  11. The external dimensions used to be 57long x 25deep x 17.5tall . That would be as wide and deep as I could go but I had to shink the box that much to get internal cubes to work. I would actually like for it to be this big again. But that would be just over 12 cubes. Would this be possible to do with me needing 3 cubes per sub?oh and I forgot to mention that this box is for show and go, not competition. But if it could do good on the meter then thats good too.
  12. 02 silverado ext cab. No back seat. the box is gonna come up at the bottom of back window. Box is gonna be on a "stand" that goes to the floor and covers my batteries
  13. Ok man sounds good. If you can come up with something better then have at it. Ill take all the help I can get.
  14. Would that be the only thing I would have to worry about. Im wanting to build it this week and would like my first box to come out good.
  15. and for air space for woofers dont i go from end of port to side wall to front of box
  16. ok i did a rendering of what i would like to do. I have 2 atomic quantum 15s, atomic 1600.1, and 2 kinetik 2400s. Inside dimensions are 52.5inwide x 20in deep x 16in tall. It comes out to be 9.72ft3 without port or sub displacement. Port is 10in wide x 16in tall x 11.75long with 12in extentions off each end. Calculator says i need 23.79 in of port length and ive got 23.75,(i hope this is the way to do it). The back of the port is 10in off inside of back wall. Wanting this to be around 36hz. From what i got i have 2.72ft3 per sub before displacement and atomics website says max 3.00ft3. And 4.24ft3 of port area. Any changes you have would be appreciated.
  17. I got some help from a buddy of mine on tuning the box. We got right at 36hz with a 12"wide x 16" tall x 13" deep port, with 4" off each side of port. And the back of the port is 12" off the back wall, if that makes any sense. Does this sound right?
  18. 60in is from 1/4in off each door panel and 25in is from bottom of back window to 1in above batts, and 20in is from the back wall to where i keep my seat.
  19. it looked like he made it blindfolded, and wasnt braced at all and shook some screws loose from my subs. even broke a screw that was holding in one of the subs
  20. [/img] under window is fine with me this is how much space i have to work with. batteries will stay where they are, and a stand will be made for the box
  21. ive got 60"long x 25" tall x 20" deep to work with keeping it under the glass
