  1. It's more feet per roll. In other words skar only wants to sell 100 ft rolls of 4g OFC or 50 ft rolls of 1/0 OFC. Sounds like they have their work cut out for them with places like knu and audio Technix. They pretty much satisfy every market need for wire of any kind, give you more bang for your buck, and have things like RCA speaker wires CCA and OFC fuses and ect ect. I don't think Kevin should have opened this can of worms vs those two companies.

    Glws!

Ill be here when they re focus on what their good at. Subs & amps! Can't wait for some v2's of my subs or a 3500 instead of 2500

  2. Ill save you the headache..... -0db for both 1k and 40hz for the head unit..... And then go -5db for both 1k and 40hz.... Then you never have to ever worry. Full tilt... No prob! Full tilt 30 mins? No prob! Just make sure you have clean music. I'd check out decaf stuff. Hint google search ram designs. :). I play 80% of decaf and I'm set with all -5db and sounds great.... Sure on normal rap CD's it's not quite as loud cause they record on higher -db signals... Like I herd someone say the original "White Girl" by young Jerzy off his cd that was purchased in the store was either -9 or -7db.... Therefor gains set for a max of -5db would still be pretty close and you don't have to worry about smoking your subs as much....

And on that note.... Gives you more of an excuse to listen to more decaf !!

  3. So I purchased my VVX 12's dual 4 ohm coils. And they are rated at 600 rms watts from skar. Well I knew a 1500.1 on those wouldn't even get close to my needs for bass. So I got a 2500.1 from Kevin and the VVX 12's and he warned me that they were way overbuilt woofers and if I'm smart and careful with how I set them up I would be great with them.....

Let me just say they are low end monsters. With my BassHeadsENT box, and Kevin's sk2500.1 and 2 vvx12's in my 96 accord. It's pretty nasty in there I must admit. They are not 600 rms by any means. I've put over 1200 watts to each woofer. And I've been beating on them full tilt for over a month. I've only gotten it slightly stinky twice and that's after 30 mins of full volume.

I set all my gains properly with my DD1, head unit distortion point on -0 db and all gains in my car with -5 db. All EQ's are only turned down...never up.

All In all I will be selling them soon just because as any real bass head I need more...... And I think I have them at their limits. But double RMS power for 15 minutes on music... For 200$ each? Sounds like a great sub to me. I give it 5 stars. Next is ZVX's on double power.:)

My next, upgrade I am thinking of getting another 2500, getting the proper electrical, and swapping my VVX for some,ZVX 12's in my BHE box. Lets see if the ZVX's are as tough as their little brothers :D

  4. My donation is coming after i get paid. He was a great guy, and id love to pay my dues by helping support his funeral. Like most bass heads, im pretty broke... but just like how we scratch together $$ for our systems. Ill scratch together some for david. Hope heaven has some Skar equipment for him. Kevin how much is shipping on his 4 zvx's and 2 4500's to heaven? Ill gladly pay that if we can get it there.

Sorry if the joke was bad, His system was awesome and so was he!

  5. So I'd like to just share a few of my thoughts on skar, their company as a whole, and their products overall. These are all opinions of mine and have nothing to do with anyone else.

Let me first say Kevin is an awesome guy, he is willing to bend over backwards for his customers and really dedicates a lot of time and effort to make skar not only one of the best products but also the best customer service around.

I always get an email back from him in less then 2 hours, most of the time 30 minutes. I can't even do that and I don't have a company. I always get my products with in days, and with free shipping and super easy contact, it just seems logical for me to keep skar in mind.

Their products have always impressed. Besides the fact that they look bad a$$, they are over built like hell. Everything is made like a tank. I currently have a t600-4 and it gets soooooooooooo hot it's untouchable after 10 minutes of play time and I'm not even pushing it that hard and voltage is always decent. However my skar sk2500.1 is on the same voltage, running at 1 ohm, set with -5db on my dd1 and it doesn't even get warm. It puts out WAY more power then any 2k -2.5k amp I've ever seen. Talk about under rated and over built. I have it powering 2 skar VVX 12's which as you may know are 600 rms woofers. I am running them on more then double RMS power and they get SUPER loud and crazy low. I'm actually curious to meter it. I don't wanna jinx it but let's just say I have a feeling I'm already pretty loud for a trunk only car.

Today as an experiment I put my sk2500 on -10 db, my voltage drop was 11.8 and I played decaf songs like 357 and bass ballin, for about 9 minutes stright on my VVX's. with shitty voltage, double power, decaf intensity, and extended play time..... It still took 10 minutes to get stinky and after a short 5 minute cool down was ready for more.

Lets just say ill be returning to skar for ALL my future needs. Including replacing my polks, replacing my Rockford, upgrading my existing skar stuff, and anything else they sell I'm sure will be just as great with the customer service to back it up.

Props to Kevin, and thanks for reading!

  6. Nah bro, the crowd pleaser is when at slam fest everyone is boomin and I hear you from clear across the field. 2 2500's how ever you decide to wire it would just be nasty. Wait till I finish saving. I talked to Kevin about what I should get for my car, and I'm half way there $$ wise. It should be quiet :) that's my goal.

I'll throw this idea out since I know I can't do it but I wanted to. 4 vvx 10's in a 4th order, semi walled with the back seat folded. To me that was soooooooo tempting but I want to still be able to use my spare. Damn daily driver needs. Oh we'll wait till you see what I put in that little 96 accord. :D

  7. Yeah, I really liked that its a daily driver, you and that blazer were both daily drivers (yours may be a bit more practical though) .... I mean anyone can throw money at a car and pack it with subs and amps but how many can make vehicles they use for more then boomin. That's why I liked yours a lot. I mean like Brian's civic or navids expedition are both painful, but that's the only thing they can do with those cars.

I'm trying to implement this into my build. My goal is to be able to still hide it all until I fold down my rear seat and also keep my box small enough to get to my spar tire with out taking the box out. You know what I mean by practical?
