  1. Well atleast I know that I will have way more than enough room to cover for driving and music. I was just hoping to get another opinion. Think you could answer any of my other questions? Oh and will those alts fit properly?
  2. same math I got which was I got confused. The extra 10 doesn't really account for much but yeah bad subtraction on my end Well is that a second alternator? B/c wouldn't a good amount of the alternator be used for driving purposes?
  3. Wow seriously? That is awesome. But Im confused, if 135 amps isnt enough for over 1k, then how is an extra 35 amps enough to push another 2k watts?
  4. Hi again guys, back again to ask another silly noobish question. You are all very helpful whenever I ask these questions. Well anyways, I was trying to figure out what alternator to pick up. Right now I drive 2002 v8 4.7L jeep grand cherokee, typed in HO alternators for this model and got a list from https://www.dcpowerinc.com/category/high-output-alternators.html?model=Grand+Cherokee&engine=4.7L+V8&make=Jeep&year=2002 ... Right now I have a 135 amp alternator. I plan to grab a 1.5k watt amp, preferably the SAZ-1500D v.2. My main question is which alternator should I pick up to run the amp properly? The link has 4 alts, the two I am interested in are the 250 amp and the 270 amp ones. I remember finding a link saying how many amps your car requires while driving but I can not find it. Besides this, I was hoping to figure out if I need anything else other than the 1/0 gauge wiring and a nice battery? In anyway will this electrical upgrade cause any harm to my Jeep, if installed properly? Any other info would be amazing, I am new to electrical upgrades (and vehicles in general) and want to do this install with as little help from a local shop as possible. Forums got great info on them and I am feeling confident, Thanks for the help.
  5. I see it now, comparing the re and torres is completely different. Have to mess around with the dimensions again to get the tuning frequency lower on the thing. Thanks for your help man.
  6. What aspect about it is inaccurate so I know
  7. Sup brotato salads, was messing around with RE box calculator. Watched a video by exo and he was showing how to make a box, he recommended using this program. So I made one up and was wondering what you guys thought about it. Unfortunately I can't copy and paste it so the specs i got plugged in are: Width: 28 Height: 18 Depth (both): 20 Wood Thickness: 1.5 (double up) Port Height: 15 Port Width: 2 Port Length 1: 16.5 Port Length 2: 10 Total Port Length: 31 Box Volume: 2.8 ft3 Tuned freq: 28 You may have to plug in the values at http://reaudio.com/box.php if you want to see some other values or I missed something. I'm new to box building so any help would be awesome. This is going to be powered around 750 watts or 1k (depends on the amp I pick up) not sure if that makes a difference. Thanks for your time gents.
  8. Wow I have to say that 12 is looking really good. Can not wait to see what the 15 will do. Really good to hear that the amp is good. Thanks a bunch for your help man. Looking for a pretty good build and glad I'm going with Sundown. Made my choice easier
  9. mbquart onyx 1000.1, same amp im running my girlfriends single sa-12 to @ 1 ohm, loves the power it sees, they run like 150-170 new shipped Haha beating me to responding. Sweet. That sounds really good. Does it ever run hot?
  10. Alright, what amp you thinking then? How big of a box would you put this bad boy in?
  11. I won't be wanging on it to that point. Though that's hard to say now haha. I would feel better keeping at or a little above the 600 watts of clean power. So now I'm looking for an amp that will give 600-700 watts clean. I would prefer to have an amp that is rated higher than 600 or 700 watts so I am avoiding over working that amp and leading to badness. I had a bad experience with pushing my last amp very close to its max output and it would be burning after 30-40 minutes of play. (was a JL amp so it wasn't bad quality was just little experience on my end) Im looking to avoid this problem again, so amp suggestions would be great, would prefer to pay around $300 give or take. Thanks so far for your help h23a3lude
  12. hmm okay so I take it that the sa-15 can handle that 900 watts daily with no problems?
  13. I don't really have one in mind. So i guess what I mean is that I would purchase an amp that says it puts out 1000 watts at 2 ohm's and just tune it down closer to 600 watts. I imagine I won't see a great increase in loudness if I do push 900 watts to the subwoofer, as opposed to 600 watts. Or would i?
  14. Hey guys been looking around for a good subwoofer and saw the SA-15. Originally wanting to stick with a 12 inch, I decided why not do a 15 inch? Like me lows loud. Anywho, I see that the SA-15 is rated at 600w rms and I have heard that they can take more easily. So my question is how much more? If I put closer towards 900 watts, will I be risking pushing this sub too far? Its meant for a daily setup and will be played for over an hour every day. Any amp ideas either? Oh and hate to keep asking for more, but how big should this box be? Looking to go vented. Thanks guys
  15. Want the dc level 3 12 bad. Can not wait!

  16. Awesome. That box looks great and will fit with no problem. Thanks for uploading and thanks to fmedina for the design

  20. Hey guys, going to be purchasing a single 12 level 3 and was hoping someone could help me with a box design. Going for a vented enclosure. Its going to be in the trunk of a 2002 jeep grand cherokee so space isn't a problem. Any help will be appreciated guys. Thank you and nice to be apart of the community.
