  1. Would it be any louder than what i got now? 1 earthquake DBXI 15 on 600watts in a 4cubed box tuned to 32hz 1 15 in the right box on 1700rms, like the zv3, level 4 m2, ssa icon, etc. will blow away that earthquake on 600 watts. I bet you could wire the amp to 1 ohm with one of the subs mentioned and be blown away. what is your port area btw? i think any of the subs you listed would laugh at 1700 rms. especially from his brz amp. thats why I suggested the SA line Now, honestly, would i even get louder from switching out the earthquake to a sundown sa 15???

  4. Level 4 or 5? The Q and the DC work in larger enclosures ( about 6 cubes and above) the Zv.3 works in 4-5 cubes that's a big difference when lacking space, if going with those other brands better a couple of 12s which will fit in 4.5-5 cubes comfortably but two subs will cost more and need more power. where did you hear this? have you used them in smaller than recommended enclosures? yes they work in larger enclosures but can perform extremely well in small enclosures too. level 5 18s can be ran down to 5.5 cubes if paired with the right power levels. I ran one in 5.5 and it worked wonderfully, just 3k wouldnt really move it too much. edit: with only 1700 rms and 6 gross, i would look into lower powered 18s in the 1000rms range so the extra power in the smaller box. Getting an XL or level 5 would be pointless anyway on that power in around 5-5.5 cubes. Yes you have a point there, i was looking at the Audio Que HD318. rated at only 1000 watts, not too bad?
  5. So im trying to plan my new build. Im thinking about the Sundown Z v.3 18 inch sub to run with my Hifonics BRZ 1700.1 i only have about 6 cubic feet to work with. would that sub sound good in a ported box tuned to around 29-32 hz? Or is there a better 18 i could go with?? here are some pictures of my current build. http://s1249.photobu...%3D084ea3d2.jpg the box is 4 cubes tuned to 32 hz. i get a fair amount of windsheld flexx with it on only 600 watts(4ohm) So any suggestions would be greatly appretiated!
  6. Hmmm okay ill think about the 18 setup. If i build a new box around 5.5 cubes at 30-32 hz, will it slam the lows on about 1500 watts with the Sundown??
  7. i think i might go with 2 12s. and maybe i could squeeze a bandpass box out of it? ill post some measurements asap. But in the mean time.. what pair of 12s would you recomend? Audio que? Sundown? DC Audio?
  8. Budget... lets keep it under $600? It'll be a goal type thing. and for the measurements.. Well, lets see http://s1249.photobucket.com/albums/hh507/Codemanfromhawick/?action=view&current=ee22f12c.jpg hope this album helps!
  9. First off, my system consists of 1 Earthquake dbxi 15 on one Hifonics BRZ 1700.1 in a 4 cubed box tuned to 32 h in my Ford Focus zx3 hatchback. Right now, it gets pretty loud and low, but of course, i need to get louder! I just need help on what i should plan on doing. i could get a new 15 inch sub to get 1700 watts out of the amp, or modify same box for 2 12s, build whole new box for maybe 2 15s? IM NOT SURE! any opinions would be apreciated! All i need to say now is that i want to stay in the "trunk" , and if anything, i could wall that off maybe? what Sub(s) should i get, what kind of box( box designs would be great) and im sticking with the same amp (1700 watts at 1 ohm) THANKS! ill add pics if you need to know my situation..
