as soon as i get a box built and the subs come in ill try and get a video up
-
well i just ordered the subs. cant wait till they get in so i can install them
-
i plan on getting mine build to 1.5 ported around 34hz if i can
-
that jackhammer is 800 rms@ 2 ohms. get two dual 2 ohm vvx8s and wire them in series. I would say a .6-.75 cucf net box ported tuned to 33-35 range. Should sound very good for two 8s on 400 watts a piece. good news is if you decide to upgrade to the ma-8 later it will work in that same box
thanks man for the help.

I would try them out, the specs are nice and you cant beat the price. What amp are you using?
well i have a db800.1 from a couple years ago or a mtx jackhammer 1200.1 which is probably the one ill be using for them but not to sure yet.

i wish i could get the MA-8s but im a little tight on money right now and i know thats not an excuse. but i just need some sort of bass back in my truck so i believe i am going to try out these vvx's. Plus i found these vvx 8's on sale for 100 a piece.

no one has used these subs?
-
well hopefully someone on here with these subs will chime in and let us know how they are. it would be greatly appreciated if they did.
-
i found these subs on sale online and i am just wondering how well of subs they are. i was wanting to go with 2 12vvx's but i think for the time being i would like to go with just 2 vvx 8's instead then maybe 4 in the future.
just wondering on reviews of these subs what kind of enclosures people have been using for them just anything helpful.

never heard of a box built with it but i think it would be pretty bad ass
-
boring over 60 like most people said above it all depends on what the block is.
i would say there are alot of big block that can handle 60 over but just check and make sure first.

ive had both 6 and 8k in my sierra but i do have projectors and i like my 8ks alot better than i did my 6s.
-
looks real good i like the sub choice.
-
i still wax mine by hand just not very often
-

in my sierra the back doors has 4x6 and i trimmed out a little to fit 6.5s.so yes it can be done its just if you have enough room to trim out.

not trying to thread jack this or anything but hey kickass audio i see you have a gmc but im not sure if it will have the same problem the gmc trucks have. i have a 2000 gmc sierra and when i turn my hids on both of mine dont always come on all i have to do is flash my brights and flash back and both of my hids will be on. do you know whats causing them to do that or what i could do to fix them. i arady have a relay that i bought from ddm and it didnt really help at all it.
I have that in the winter time when i ran my 50w ballasts for the low beams but only because my voltage was up in the 15's. If i shut my truck down the voltage would drop and the lights worked just fine. I tried the capacitor mod for the DRL circuit with no success and i have had 4 different relays for the truck too with nothing. When i went back to my 35w ballasts it rarely happened and when it did i just turned my knob to the off position, waited a minute and fired the lights back up and both kicked on. That only happened with my low beams though, never with my fogs. I was about to just bypass the stock switching system and run my own toggle switches but never did that as i didnt think they provided enough voltage to energize the circuits and fully activate the relays.
okay thanks. i also thought about bypassing the stock wiring and just putting in my own switch. well i guess ill keep looking for a little longer if not i will be forsure rewiring.

car looks amazing

with what he said i would not run HIDs in stock units but i see people o it all the time. i guess its really up to you. i just wouldnt risk it melting anything.

yes i had 6000ks first they do have a tint of blue. but most recently i went with 8000k and they are a little more white but to me they seem so much brighter, i am alot happier with the 8000k than i was with the 6000k.
-
no im not to sure on the difference between the 35 or 55. ive had two different sets of 55 because thats the only ones the local place sells. i just know the difference between the colors of the bulbs.
-
HID's are simple to instal.
im not sure on the stock unit melting. but i do know in my truck they do get extremely hot, but i have aftermarket headlights so i do not have to worry about melting.
as for a place to get them ive been told ddm tuning is a good place. but i buy mine locally.
and as for benefits. they are so much brighter.

that truck is sick. and those 6.2 are nice if you get it tuned there pretty fast.

got a friend who bought 4 vvx8s awhile back and im not sure what he did to them but he has one that has a little metal hitting sound when the sub hits. just wondering if they sell recone kits for the vvx 8s if so where would he be able to order one?
