My personal option is 30-32 or 32-33 for a bit louder,
Most of the boxes I do for these are 32-33flat for best all round performance
-
Seen as this isn't you first ported box
Have you herd any sa8 before (not YouTube )
I've got mine at 32, they get down to 27-28 and still get loud
Theis things love being tuned at 28-30 but are no where near as loud,
With out knowing your take on sq (the % were mine) these things still sound good tuned at 35
The % is basses on there performance at different tunes, compare to others at 33-35 these thing are louder and have better sq then most in there price range and above
-
Why only 10.5 high
And what direction are the subs
Up, back, fwd
Also these think get low,
They are a nasty little sub,
Edit, depending on port and sub location you could do up to 6 in that box, on close to 6k of power,
If you want spl it will come at a price
In cone are 2 of these are = to 1 10 but 1 of these hit hit as hard as a 10 with the lows of a 12,
I can't assist with a drawing as I'm at work but when I get home I can
How much power?
how many do you want to run?
What direction of sub/port?
And what %of sq to spl would you like?
-
If you aftet pure sq
1.2-1.3net 18-21sq" of port 26-28hz
You can go bigger on box but it will peak more witch you don't want
Idd say 70%sq/30 would be that set up
1.2-1.3 18-21port 30hz (60/40)
1.2-1.3 18-21 port 32-33hz (50/50)
1.3-1.4 21-25 port 35-37hz (40/60)
1.3-1.4 21-25 port 40-42hz (30/70)
I can't draw nothing as mobile at moment but from the % next to what I have written hopeful you can work out what you want
-
Post some meserments
And draw something up for you
-
How much power do you have and how much power do you plane on putting latter,
I no the newer stangs have a harrow trunk
Youll be able to 6 if you want maybe even 8 if you want to keep any trunk idd go 2-4 of them depending on amp selection
3x dvc2 will give up 1.33ohm and after box rise you should see high 1's, so a good quality 2ohm stable amp will work but a 1ohm will be better
If you ask me for a min 200rms a pop is the lowest idd run but to 750-800 is better
-
I'd just wait till you got everything,
And do a 4th with aeros that way you only have some round holes in bed that can be covered with a liner and not seen to new buyer
-
Don't no what size box it is but 2x 6" or 3x 6" aeros through rear deck would be my choise
-
10"s are prob a good choise, but idd graph it for the flatest response,
I'm not at home now but someone should be able to do it for you, if you have enough space
Try a T-line on ported box at 25-28hz maybe even 30flat
It will louder the sealed and play everything
But you will need some 6x9 or similar to take over from 70-100 and up
I've seen a sa12 ported at 22hz and it played up to 60-70hz at a fairly even level( never saw it on a termlab) but is sounded good, did go as loud as I tought for mid 400 rms but was clean
-
if i were you idd cut a piece of wood to simulate the side of box and try it, so you can get the biggest box possible,
this is what i built for a 4door truck behind the rear seat last time, for 2 sealed slimline 12's sealed
-
It 0.5cuft net so your box will have to be 0.6cuft gross,
I wouldn't use Polly fill
Do you have the space to port it?
-
The cvt12 is ok for what it is but the JL13" slim shits all over them
But value for money they do alright in 0.5net up on 400+ rms
-
Use behind the seat and extend it and port into the centre console
His girlfriend sits in the middle seat seat and refuses to sit anywhere else lol. I was going to build a box for the subs in the center but that's out of the question now.
What's wrong with that just tune it to the luck 33 and let her sit there
-
Jam the 2x 12" in 2.4net and fit 4x sa8v2 and with 750rms each should blow most 12 in that space
-
Use behind the seat and extend it and port into the centre console
-
cut sheet
bottom/top 48" x 37.5" x 1.5" (2off)
front/back 48" x 16.5" x 1.5" (2off)
sides 34.5" x 16.5" x 1.5" (2off)
port top 33" x 11.5" x 1.5" (1off)
ports sides 6.5" x 11.5" x 1.5" (2off)
port insert
sides 5.75" x 22 x 1.5" (2off)
top 30" x 22" x 0.75" (1off)
also with the insert you can play around with it and extend it up to 30" long for lower tuning
I also added 2" to insert port to accommodate for the extra wall around port and keep running as close to 33 as possible
-
Post some more accurate volume and tuning for each,
Power and more info
In the end it a v's thread and louder thread
So IBTL,
And question should be what is more suitable in xxxx cuft for spl
-
39hz was just an average for spl I normally tune closer to 40-42 for spl and still be musical,
Will it hit the lows yes but not below 34-35 and will be quite do there
That's why you need the insert to tune lower
You could tune insert to 30 and then 42 if you want it even louder
It's all up to you want you want to tune to
-
You'll need more height for aero and im not 100% but I think there 8" aeros if 15's or 6" if 12's
-
Ported boxes don't work like that,
I wouldn't do more them 21sq" of port so 2" wide is the max idd go
2.5 would give you 26.25sq" and would require more space then what you have unless you want a higher tune
-
Why not
Single subs perform well in some cars, and in right box with good power can outperform many other setup
Ive seen 2x p312 on 1500rms only get 128db and the set cost that bloke a small fortune, and there are many out there that are the same, no educated
-
Where you buy your wood from? And what size MDF you used?
mate i live in australia,
dont no if you have bunnings over there
and i only use 3/4" (but it's 18mm so it 0.708" they dont do 3/4" here)
-
3 sundown 8's what size box?
