-
i believe the difference are the terminals....thats it...
-
he said 27" long port..and its 12.5" tall judging from the pics...just need the width
-
whats the width of the port?
-
sexy!! like the new mounting feet!!

dont know much about the history of flat cones....
but...has anyone ever tried a flange on the former? kinda like an aero port....the top of the former has a nice lip all the way around to be glued to the cone...just a thought...would def be more surface area to glue...but would have to be PERFECTLY centered...
-
lookin good clarky!!!
-
just build a box for same subs.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...60&start=60
around 5 cubes net, two 6"aeros, tuned to 37ish...he has yet to get the subs...so not sure how it sounds..lol
but that design should work well for u as well
i would do around 5cubes net, maybe more...tuned from 36-38hz

is that liquid nails or wood glue? looks like liquid nails to me...if it is, use some titebond next time..but looks good...i would have moved the sub further from the port...but thats just me...aint gonna affect anything too much..

except they arent connected to anything....and still has his stock exhaust hanging out the back....IDIOTS!!

ok, so how to i calculate port area.
*sigh*
for a square its height * width
for a circle its pi*r^2
8th grade geometry
-
super broad question...
there are probably at least a dozen choices that would work...
any idea whatsoever on what u want?
if not then do some research...
-
my brain cant even come up with an image of what that would look like .....
-
i would def move the sub as far from the port as possible...like u said
and that small box for an 18? granted i know about zero about the subs...seems super small though..
-
true...i dont know enough about clipping to give any further opinion than i already have
-
That website says this at one part of it
"If the speakers can handle 3 or 4 times the power that your amplifier can produce, there's virtually no way to damage your speakers (no matter how clipped the signal is)."
Is that really true?
everybody has their opinion on clipped signals...
but in MY opinion i agree with that statement
if your running a 200watt amp to a nightshade for example...i dont think any amount of clipping will damage it...but if u run its rated rms i think there is def a potential for damage..

not a square wave
really hard clip yes
but square waves have vertical tangents in them
that one is more of -2x
