Hello everyone, I have a 1997 6.5L turbo Diesel Suburban, and with the year motor that is in the vehicle it has a factory mounting spot for an additional alternator. The factory alternator is 105amp which is way to small, and I have another 105amp alt that is on my parts 6.5 diesel suburban and I was just wondering the electrical side of doing twin alts. Do I need relays? Does it hook into the other alt wiring harness? Thanks for looking!

Hello everyone, This is my first post on SMD and I decided it was about time to show my face after about a year of undercover following. I picked myself up a 1997 GMC K2500 Diesel Suburban and It has all the Bell's and whistles the particular year model could come with. It will be a fun project and will eventually become my daily, as for now though it will be just something to work on during the summer as I am a D-1 Athlete. Before someone asks I will address that I play for Wake Forest University, and a Starter on the Offensive Line. Anyone that is close to one of my games and that lets me know, I will do my best to say hello, and if its a home game hangout afterwards. Now to my question; I was wondering if anyone here has installed a KeyLess entry on one of these vehicles. It has power everything so I do not need a kit with actuators. Also I need the remote start that will allow the glow plugs to commence and run through their start up cycle. Any words of wisdom with be much appreciated. Thanks again guys and I look forward to building a relationship with the SMD Forum!
