  1. right but as said ealier that wouldnt be active right?meaning i kinda have to trust the crossover for the spesakers, as its set in stone

Well you could also just run them without a crossover but with a bass blocker on the tweeter. My understanding was further.tuning using the crossover after the amp. But multiple amps depending on how many sets your going to run in each stage; I mustve missed that part in your OP. A set front and rear, then a good 4chan amp and a mono amp for the sub would do the job

  2. seeing as any deck only has 3 rca outs. then obv i need a processor, so where would i go from my HU?

If your headunit has 3 sets if rca outs, then you should have front, rear, and subwoofer outputs. You *could* run each output to its own dedicated amp and then tune that amp alone; cutting out the need for a processor. Just my 2 cents. Each amp would then run to your.crossover then respective component and tweeter.

  3. Picked up my car tuesday, ended up getting a 2008 Chevy Aveo LS sedan :> Little gas saver; digging around in the stereo system on it before I order subs. Been looking at alot of different brands. I definately see a custom box coming with the trunk having 12ft^3 of trunk space. Narrowing a few brands down on the 12s.

  4. Are you going to buy subwoofers before the car? Because if so,then make sure the car has enough space for the subwoofer(s).

I'm checking out trunk space and electrical before I set my mind one one car. I'm liking the idea of 12ft^3

arent prices needed to suggest reasonable woofers?

I'm not really working with a set budget. I've got the money put away and working full time.

arent prices needed to suggest reasonable woofers?

I don't think that he is looking into specific woofers yet since he hasn't bought his new car, I think he is looking for brands that are (for a lack of a better term) on top of their game now since things have changed since 8 or so years ago

The brands listed above is a pretty good summary of some to look into

I don't remember seeing over half of these brands 8 years ago. But I was a youngin playing with stereos back then. Digging through brands and specs right now.

  5. Well I've been out of the loop of the audio worldfor quite some time now. Been doing some tweaks here and there but its time to get back into the bass. I've been running an OLD set of 12" Pioneer ts-w1204s from around 2004, and after 8 years of me and my dad abusing them they've finally took their final hits. I've been looking around and already checked out Alpine type rs, dc audio, sundown, and skar for a new set of 12s but I'm still looking at options. So my real question's what other brands are out there? I'm not really sitting on a budget or biased as long as they can perform for the price. I'm also getting a new car in a month or so, so building a new box is planned for the future. If anyone can toss some more options my way, i'd appreciate it.
