After trying to install Torres for a good while, I've had no luck. Anyone feeling nice today and want to design a box for me?
-
I'd do about 2.5 cubes maybe even bigger. tune higher, like 36+ plenty of port
torres calculator can be downloaded on a mac, it just takes some extra steps that are all explained on the first page.
Ahh thank you, I'll work on doing that today
-
kinda depends on how much power you're giving it.
It will be running at 1ohm off of a Hifonics hfi2000d, so it will probably be running 1700-1800 maybe less since I'm pretty positive that amp doesn't do rated.
-
Not to be a dick, but you probably should've been asking this before you cut out the pieces.
Yeah...at this point I'm probably going to have to go back to the drawing board. So if I were to start over what should my dimensions look like? I heard from audioque that the 12" does well in a 2.2 cubic foot box, but I also heard from people that have it that it does well in a 3 cubic foot box. So I'm basically lost overall. Still really new to all this car audio stuff.
-
So the box is already built?
I've got everything cut out, I just need to figure out what length to make the port walls
-
Anyone else able to help?
-
Can you go a little deeper or wider, guessing this is a trunk car.
I could go 6" wider but I would like to keep my current dimensions instead of having to buy all new wood

I know someone has some answers for me

I need some help on a box I'm working on for a single AQ HDC3 12. I have a mac so I cant download Torres but I've been going between bcae1.com box calculator and the re audio box calculator. Both have me relatively lost so basically I need some help figuring out tuning. The box's dimensions are 30" wide, 16" deep and 13.5" high. I don't really know all the technical terms, so bare with me please. The first port wall (the one that is connected to the baffle or the front or whatever you call it) is 10" long and is 5" away from the side of the box, then the next wall making the L is 15" long. I hope that makes sense. I need someone to help me out with what my frequency is and what determines making the frequency higher or lower? I hope I can get some help

Now is anyone able to identify the amp? The guy is telling me its a 800 watt gold series amp, haven't been able to find anything else out about it. Any help?

go with a single 12 over those man. im telling you ahah. you cant fit 2 12s in your car unless you build box in car. or your back seats fold down
I would get these just to resell, I'm trading something for them potentially, but I'm trying to figure out if its that worth it
gotcha. well, i guess im not an expert on MTX. if they arent what all the high school kids want in your area dont get them ahha.
Haha, well theyre all into name brand, I just wanna be able to hook them up to my amp so I can sell them better without having to worry about blowing them, or tearing a spider

what coil do they have? Mine were single 8
I'm not sure, might be dual 4. Im just trying to get some info on them before I go and check them out tomorrow
-
They look like thunder 6000's. I think the 6000s have a stamped basket and 8000s have a cast but not 100% sure. If they are 6000s they are 250rms subs and don't sound too bad. I had a pair but blew em when I put em on my opti6k lol
If I were to run 2 in parallel and one in series, would it run at 1.5 ohms? And would that be fine on a hifonics hfi2000d
-
I need some help identifying what kind of MTX subs these are
If anyone could give me the name and some info on them I would highly appreciate it.
-
If someone can't photoshop it for you go to lowes or home depot, buy a can of this stuff called plasti dip, spray it on, and if you don't like it you can peel it right off. There are a Ton of YouTube videos about it

Strategically place mouse traps. Or things to stub their toes on, a stubbed toe is no damn joke.
-
Shoot them in the testicles to remove their kind from the gene pool

If your amps are close enough or stacked, you could get 2 of these:
RCA from deck into the Y-Splitters, Y-Splitters into your amps. One for the left channel, one for the right.
Or.... you could get 2 of these and 2 more RCAs and 2 RCA butt connectors:
RCA out of head unit into left and right butt connecters (female on both ends), then left and right to this Y-Splitter, then run 2 RCAs to each of your amps.
Or.... like Tebo and other said, you could get a head unit with front, rear, and subwoofer 4 volt outputs. Maybe around 150-200 retail.
I'm kinda lost with what your saying but this is my interpretation which may be far off. So I would buy two, and One of them I would plug the male say into the white plug, then the other one I would plug into the red? Hope that makes sense
-
I mean, why wouldnt you?
-
Why not just get 2 Y-Splitters? One for the left one for the right.
Could you get me a link?
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=240-125
Sorry I gave you the wrong link the first time. You need the single female to dual male. This is the correct link
OP Do you currently have a sub amp hooked up? And will you be requiring all 4 channels plus a sub output?
Yes I do have a sub amp hooked up and yes to the second(I think).

Kenwood excelen x395 is right around 1001000w bucks 6 channel rcas 4volt preamp
How many dollars is 1001000w?
-
No vs. threads because most likely either one will suit what your looking for.
-
Buy one of these. Single input dual output
http://www.sonicelec...ontrol-2XS.html
Make offer at $102
Mine as well get a new head unit at that price...
You can seriously get a new headunit for $102?
I mean if I got $50-75 more then yeah I can.
