  1. Looks good, cept fake as all can be for the tires. Good jobs look real. That looks beyond fake. If you could make it look more realistic, then I'd give a 10/10. Since it looks fake, I'd give it a 6/10. Which is way better than I can do so you're miles ahead of me. The second one looks good. I honestly can't tell which way the walls are going, if the window is like the screen at times square in NYC or what. Gives something to think about. But honestly, think it could be in a video game (maybe an online rpg or somethin). Give that one a 8/10. Good job though on both.
  2. Nooby install and work? Yeah right. That's actually very good. I mean sucks that you lost your entire back... but hell, looks good. If I had a similar car, I'd go for that setup. As for an alternator, I'm not one of the guru's obviously but there's 3 sites people on here mention that I'm sure at least one of them would be able to put an alternator together for ya. As for power, not sure if you have but first thing people mention is the big 3 upgrade and then battery. Upgrading your battery to an HO battery should help some as far as power. But that's my 2 cents as a true nooby. I'm sure others will come around and either put my foot in my own mouth or give better examples of what I said.
  3. PS is free... if you know how to get it. Haha. But we won't talk about that. Back in the day (When gimp was like 1.2 and all), it was very similar to photoshop. But now, guess it's more different. Not completely different, just slightly. But as mttornquist said, free vs couple hundred? I'll take free!
  4. Me personally, don't like the colors. But other than that, looks good. Better than what you had standard haha. But really, looks good from here.
  5. I would do over the braces too. But that's just my 2 cents.
  6. Definitely agree. Subs matter but the box is the most important. How they deal with the air determines how the subs perform in your vehicle. Maybe 2k's subs are the best in the world but put them in my box and they're crap. So I would first get subs that you want and then get a good box for them. 2 12's could easily outperform 4 12's depending on how the box is built. Maybe I'm a groupie but I'd go with rockford fosgate. Good prices, great quality. There's cheaper stuff out there, and there's better quality out there. But they seem to be about average or a little above average for price and some of the best products. But again, just my noob opinion!
  7. Nah, I mean look at what studios have. That. Maybe better quality or whatnot, but they wanna eliminate echo and keep the sound trapped there. And as far as the headphones? Nah man, gotta be Beats by Dre. Lmfao
  8. Honestly was the first time ever I've seen the inside of a car flex. Seen windows, mirrors, ect flex but never a panel. Insane! How much on the explorer have you broken? I'm sure at least a few mirrors and windows.

Noob here but isn't .5 ohms... uhm, pretty darn low? I mean all these subs are 1,2,4 ohms and so amps are usually the same..right? So shouldn't almost any amp be able to run at .5 ohms?
  10. Haha, happens to the best of us.
  11. http://www.urbanlyrics.com/lyrics/liljosh/jiggajuice.html That'd be my guess. I just googled "bout to get retarded lyrics" and it came up with either that or black eyed peas - let's get retarded. At work so can't exactly listen to it but perhaps that's it?
  12. haha, true. Noob suggestion but try re-positioning the bulbs. Then as far as the left one, get a new cover. If all else fails, get new bulbs, position them correctly, get new covers.
  13. I've been on this for awhile, trying to help my poor third tail light and also on a budget. Trying to find out what to get and all. I've heard Dynamat is good but over priced. I've checked out other forums, ect. Everyone seems to talk about Raanmat actually. And I've also seen that nothing is "the best", it all depends on your situation and what exactly you're trying to do with the dampening. But can't go wrong (from what I've heard) with SS. I've heard nothing but Dynamat is too expensive for what it does. Stuff out there that does as good of a job for cheaper.
  14. I'm new to the audio world and am learning specs and all that myself but honestly what I've learned is everyone says that their way is the best. And also, get more than one opinion. So as Legacy said, it would run the subs but, underpowered. Save up a little for a more powerful sub. Me personally, I have a rockford fosgate t1500 amp powering 2 t0's. Now that's a little too much amp for the subs, but can always upgrade to more powerful subs without spending anymore on an amp. I'm sure more will chime in on this, and they'll say their 2 cents. But if you don't believe the internet, also could go to several car audio shops (or email/call) and ask their opinion.
  15. I don't have any pics from the inside. But on both sides, probably about an inch away from where the light ends, there's a bolt holding a bracket. The bracket has the light. And at least for mitsu, not sure about cobalt, can't get the bracket without the light. I can upload a pic of the broke light. Was thinkin of uploadin pics of car anyways. May be a project for me this week. pics of the head unit, amp, 2nd batt, subs enclosed in box. Take like 2 mins to do the pics, maybe 10 or so to upload. So wouldn't suprise me if with yours, about an inch from where the light ends on both sides, you have bolts or something holding your light. Just pos plastic. But as far as being inside? Nah man. I mean I could see if it's inside the spoiler or whatnot cause that'd suck but some cars have their light inside their car right along the back window. That would be the best. I mean easy to get to and all. Unlike in the trunk where you gotta take down the liner (all they had to do).
  16. I do mean cracking. The light itself wasn't broke, I believe it still works. Just the bracket that held it broke. So had to order the whole assembly (which of course includes a light) which yeah. And nothing else is cracked or seems to have problems. Just that one tail light. But as far as seeing where the stress spots are? No, I haven't. I will soon though. Gotta take it somewhere kind've private cause where I live... people are stuck up haha. And honestly, I do think it's a design flaw. I mean google it. Who puts the light right there? If you look at almost every other car in existance, where is the 3rd tail light (aka the braking light) located? In the back window or on the back window. Damn mitsu put the light right there on the trunk. That's why I say, when I get the money, that light is moving. Take to a body shop or whatnot and fill the hole, move the light to inside my back window. Again, do appreciate all the input!
  17. What gen lancer? It's a Lancer ES. 2010. Basic style, not an evo haha. And as far as the audio shop being right, I know that's an obvious choice but knew that wasn't the only option. As I say, know my system is decent but there are a lot more powerful ones and I haven't heard of them blowing tail lights or mirrors or anything. So knew there had to be a fix. Thanks for the input!
  18. Ok so I have a Mitsu Lancer (basic style, ain't got the dough for the Evo). I have 2 RF T2's with a T1500-1 amp. Other week, I blew out my third tail light. Yay right? Nah, it's a nightmare to replace. Talkin over $200 just for the light. So my goal in the long run is to move that damn light or get a custom light built. But that's when I get the money. As for a temporary fix, was thinking of sound dampening it. Only real thing on my car that shakes and makes noise is the trunk (where the subs are obviously). So was wondering from the sound guru's on this page, what's a good brand of sound dampening insulation and where I should put it. Or if there's another method. I went into a local car audio shop and the only advice they gave me is basically turn down the bass. C'mon, we can't do that now. Why would you buy any car audio at all if you had to just "turn down the bass"? They said any sound dampening wouldn't help. I don't believe that cause my system is powerful (compared to the walmart brand stuff) and I'm blowing tail lights meanwhile got cars out there from SMD and whatnot that may have problems like mine but nothing major (just blowing tail lights and mirrors) but are like 200x more powerful systems? I know most of you have seen that music video by Petey Pablo, the song Vibrate? My car is definitely below walmart brand when it's compared to that, but blowing a tail light and absolutely nothing can be done to help prevent it? I don't believe that. Not saying to find me a fix that will 100% prevent it but gotta be something, right? And I know, if you customize your car, you gotta know that things may break and all. Cost of modifying your car. Just askin if there's a way to prevent it. That's all.
  19. As an ex-AF uhm, person, (Not gonna use the word Vet since hell, only 23 and makes me sound old as hell), I agree. I had asthma as a kid, I no longer have it. Didn't tell them. Never became a problem. I told my recruiter I had tubes in my ears when I was a baby and hardly remember it and he told me "You don't remember" so I repeated what I said thinkin it was some joke and he said "No, you don't remember". Had physicals, got sick and saw the doc, they asked me "Ever had tubes in your ears?" "Yeah, when I was little, I don't remember though" and that's the end of that story. Nothing ever came of it. Military truly doesn't care as long as it doesn't affect you. If you can run longer than what the PT test is without any problems, you're fine. They don't go out and dig up every record about you. They'll look to see if you have any criminal history and stuff like that but as far as "Oh, John had asthma when he was 6. He hasn't been treated or anything for it since he was 8. We'll flag this"? Yeah, that definitely doesn't happen.
