  1. Got a kicker zx350.4 for my amp and in my 2 door 69 camaro looking to do a set of Kenwood 6x8's on the back shelf. Model number: KFC-C6894PS. For each door I listened to a set of KFC-P709PS 6.5's for the front and loved them. Is this a pretty decent/reliable setup for my car? Not sure if the formatting on the post is wrong from copy pasting model numbers. If so, I apologize.
  2. All your money in audio, and to hell with the kids! I like this guy. Who cares how pointless it is. If it's louder your obviously doing something better for yourself. I myself am an engineer and if someone says I can't make or do something it just pumps me up more to prove them wrong. I expect some patented removable walls for sale soon LOL.
  3. Yes one Kicker zx2500.1 pushing around 3000rms @ 2ohm with my system. The box is 7.512 cube after all displacements BESIDES subs. Now that size depends on which subs I get
  4. The number 7.5 is after port displacement, calculated for .75 mdf, and also after the 2, 2x4's I installed for extra support. I checked everything when building the box. It's exactly 7.512 before sub displacement. It's tuned to 31.4hz, I had 2 15 inch Mojo's that were 2500rms each in it and loved it. I just got a great offer on the Mojo's to the point I can get two brand new Fi BL's and have extra cash for wiring.
  5. The level 4's only require 3.25 cube ft. each so these may be a possibility. Louder than the Fi's?
  6. It's cut out for 2 15's currently I have Memphis Mojo's but I got a great offer on them I will be taking. The guy doesn't want the box and it's perfect for my car so it worked out great. I just have the option of cutting it out for 18's easily. Another question. I'm wanting to put no more than $700 into two 15's and keeping the rest of my setup the same. Anything better for the money than Fi BL's? I've had an Fi BL 10 and that thing ROCKED for how small it was.
  7. Fi recommends 3-5 per sub so that's why I was thinking 15's. I just figured I might be able to get away with 18's.
  8. I have a 7.5cube box before displacement. Tuned to 31. Kicker ZX2500.1 for the subs (going to be dual 2 so I can run at 2 ohm). A XS D975 and 2 red tops for the amp with zero gauge Knu all around. For this size box and the rest of my setup would I be better off with the 15's or 18's for SPL use and just to be as loud as possible.
  9. So does this mean a Kinetik 1200 is bigger? That explains a lot about clipping that little tool is nifty.
  10. I don't have the cash really for the bigger battery or i'd own one :/. I have a lot going not only towards the system but towards the motor I'm building. The car isn't driven that much. Certainly not a daily driver. I don't plan on competing but I'd like it loud for when I go to a regular car show or something like that. The 975 is $10 more on ebay than the 925. $169.99 for the 925. I just happen to have extra red tops. I would just like to run a system for the car that i can turn it up loud and not worry about it blowing something up, you know? As for the extra weight It will be easy to remove the batteries. I'm just running battery terminals off the tops with ring terminals so it's just a simple wing nut to loosen up and pull it out.
  11. What is clipping? Also I have one other question: What is stronger? A kinetik 1200 or a XS d975? Cause they're priced the same.
  12. How bad you think if the car runs a steady 14.0? edit: and you think it's gonna cut out?
  13. Here's my setup front to rear in a 1969 Camaro Z28 drag car. And yes...the subs and amps and all that are just for show. They get ripped out when the car is raced lol. Yellow top Optima under the hood. Big 3 0 gauge completed. 140amp H/O alternator. 0 gauge to the rear (about 17ft Cadence 0 gauge). That is where the setup stands now. These are my plans: For sure one Redtop in the rear on the other end of that 0 gauge wire. Chances are i'll get my hands on a second red top to go off of that one. But just to be sure, let's just say theres only one redtop back there...Coming off of the Redtop(s) I plan to put a XS D975 2100amp max battery. From there, About 3-5ft of knu 0 gauge (fused) to a Kicker ZX2500.1 that will be ran @ 2 ohms to two 15 inch quad voice coil Memphis Mojo's in a box tuned to around 31. Also off of the XS will be 4 gauge cadence (fused) to a Kicker ZX350.4 for my mids and highs. So, my question is basically, (let's say ONE redtop) is this enough battery for my setup? I'd like to be on the safe side of things and not worry about anything when I beat the hell out of the subs. Thanks!
  14. Yes they have the orange basket with the M spokes. Will they take a Kicker ZX2500.1? What size box would two of them be good in? I have them in a 6.7cube box tuned to around 31 and haven't hooked them up to the amp yet.
  15. Hifonics amp are amazing I absolutely love their amps. Their subs are alright but if you overpower them they won't hesitate to blow instantly. I suggest sealed box to be safe otherwise I recommend under powering them. I've blown them before.
  16. Got a guy trying to trade me two 15 inch quad 1 ohm voice coil memphis subs. They have the orange basket not the black basket. With the Blue and orange logo on the front of the sub. I did some research and think they are memphis cm15q1's. But when I search that I only see the new black design. Anybody have any idea what these are and what they're worth and what the specs are? He says Memphis mojo and that they are not m3's. Not sure if he's bsing or not.
  17. I believe the 12 inch L7 is 750 watts.. Like strangeduck said, you need to find out if they're dual 2 or 4 ohm coils. As for the amp...It's definitely too much. You would be better off selling that amp, and buying an amp dedicated for your sub, and another amp dedicated for your mids/highs. I will get flamed for saying it, but personally I LOVE hifonics amps. They're cheap and I have gotten the best quality out of them in every way. A Hifonics Brutus 1200.1d will be 900w RMS @ 2 ohm for your sub which would be great for you. It even comes with a bass knob. This amp is only $145 shipped to your door brand new. As for your mids and highs, you need to be a little more clear about how much your trying to push. Personally I own a Hifonics ZRX600.4. It's plenty for me and I'm pushing 4 6.5inch speakers with 75rms a piece and also 4 tweeters. If this is too much than you can always turn it down. If not Hifonics for mids/highs I recommend Alpine or Kicker. Both of their 4 channel amps have always satisfied me as well. As for you sub if you don't want Hifonics, go with a 750.1 if you plan on staying with Kicker amps. Hope this helps!
  18. It's certainly not a good thing to do but if it just touched for a split second, you'll be fine. If the wires stayed together they would get hot enough and melt something internally I'm sure. I guess that's what the fuses are for.
