  1. Actually Steve, you'd be very surprised at how hot those RAM sticks will get. I had one at home that I had shut off to upgrade the RAM from 16GB to 32GB and I had to let it sit for a few minutes and cool before I could even touch them. Then again, I was using it pretty hard at 100% memory usage at all times.
  2. Yeah, didn't think the speaker terminal would work with that application very well. Running all this and waiting for the 3Sixty.3 to come in. Ordered it through a local shop here where I live and his distributor has it back-ordered but we are first on the list. Trying to do as much business with him as I can. Good guy/friend. I'll let ya'll know how it works out. Don't think it will be much of a problem though. Thanks again, everyone!
  3. That wattage on the remote lead doesn't really matter does it? As long as it is hot? I got plenty of rockers to work with.
  4. Well, I'm not sure if my amp will take that auto-generated signal. Like I said, this is a temporary setup and this is the amp I'm working with. I used this when I first got into car audio and has served me well to test some subs and everything I needed it to do. http://www.amazon.co...s/dp/B000CHRK72 Also, sorry for the delay. I didn't realize you had responded. I was supposed to get an email when someone replies.
  5. Why the BLD? Doesnt the hlc do the same thing but $100 cheaper? Never really got.in depth with line drivers. Also, after i get that situated, what about remote power. Can i run straight from the battery and incorporate a toggle or will i have to run off one of the wires? This is that faq i mentioned earlier: http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/radiosc.html
  6. Not gonna go all out on the clean sweep or anything like that lol defeats the purpose of this only being a temp until i get all my materials to do a full upgrade. Everything from the HU to amp, speakers, and subs. So to get this straight, i need the rf-hlc and i can splice off the feeds going to the existing sub?
  7. Sorry for the double post on my phone. Im wanting to leave the stock usable, my gf hates bass and the stock isnt too much for her. Thinking splice to a loc?
  8. Solja: i wouldn't even begin to understand which one to use, im afraid. Kylar: for now im just wanting to tie in an aftermarket amp which will power the new subs. I can get the ground and power but cannot seem to find the remote turn on for the amp nor anything to use for inputs, my amp only has RCA for input. Boo.
  9. There in lies another issue. The factory amp controls everything from my full range speakers in my doors and pillars to my volume. Can't simply unhook it all without losing my volume control. Could i use the wires feeding the factory sub as inputs? It is a dvc. Could i somehow use a converter to change that to RCA?
  10. Thanks for the fast reply, Kranny, but it will not be running off the factory. I am simply wanting to tap into the inputs to input into an aftermarket amp which feeds the extra subs
  11. To start off, wonderful site and community here people! I'm new and wasn't sure if this was a wiring or what category. My apologies. I have a 2006 Cadillac CTS non bose which i am leaving for the time being. I will be swapping everything out at a later time so it'll just be one big jump on it. I am wanting to supplement the existing subwoofer that is built in with two little 12's i was given. My only hindrance here is the remote turn on lead for the amp, and the RCA for the input. I cannot for the life of me make sense of some of the wiring diagrams at cadillacfaq.com The stock amp is the acdelco that is OEM and i want to run these subs off the same channel as the existing sub so the factory HU still controls it. Sorry if it sounds like I'm talking in circles guys, long day.
