all i have to say, regardless of whatever terms you are with your father, he will always love you, regardless of how far he has it tucked away. maybe im wrong, but it is better to be optimistic and try and fix a situation than to give up. Even if he is an asshole or whatever, the day he dies, you will be pissed at yourself you didn't spend more time with him. So no matter how frustrating, try something....
