What I don't understand is how this just started happened recently, I've had the subs for quite a few months and have been playing them on this power almost the whole time and i'm sure that I played tons of extreme lows before.
-
Ah didnt see they were the m2s. So I'm just betting playing songs lower that what he's at.
I'm tending to agree with you there, that's probably what it is.
-
Okay so then maybe your playing lower than what it's tuned. What songs do you play when you hear that bottoming out?
I already said that I don't remember what song was being played. It happened multiple times on multiple different songs.

I clamped this amp to find out just what power im working with. Subs are wired to 1 ohm, but with box rise, it was doing 2200w rms at 2.2 ohms at full gain, and right now I have the gain set slightly below full tilt. These subs are seeing atleast 600w below their rated rms power.

You may be playing lower than what your tuned at. What songs are you playing when you hear that? Do you have a subsonic filter in your amp? 1250 rms to a 1000 watt sub is still giving it more than what it's rated and that box seems a little bit too small for two 12s
Do a little research before you reply next time. Actually Level 4 12's are rated at 1400w RMS, and the box is perfectly fine, DC recommends 1.5 CF of net airspace per Lvl 4 12" subwoofer. I asked Rusty himself if my box design was OK before I had it built and he said it would do just fine.

Read my first post, it says the box is tuned to 36hz.

What song where you playing when it happend?
Don't remember the song, it happened a few times on different songs.

Whats your subsonic at?
Not sure, ill check when i get a chance and reply.

Recently while playing my set of level 4 12's at high volume, only on certain notes, they start to rattle/bottom out. Just curious if anyone knows what might be going on? They are not very old at all and are powered by a Memphis Mojo 2500w amp that I tuned in with a DD-1, so they are getting a little less then their rated rms power. The box is 3 net cubes, tuned to 36hz and has a single 6" aero port. Designed it with the owner of my local audio shop, then had it built by him. The guy is very good so I don't think that the box is the problem. Besides this one problem they have been flawless so far and sound amazing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Only need one good reason not to get the Crescendo amp? DC is the best! There you go... plus you can have a matching set then.

Previous post should have been stated at start of thread. For all people that the AVBM will not work for like myself,
you can buy an external voltage regulator accompanied by internal modifications to your mechman alternator,
this will give the same result being a small dial to control your voltage. I use this setup myself in my jeep,
highly recommended.

Best of luck to you.

Lookin good creecher, I'm still stumped trying to find spot for mine, my dash sucks for this stuff.

Nice work looks clean as hell, that's some system for a house.

Just checked and I got a shipping confirmation.

Looks painful. Would love to see in person.

DC recommends things for a reason, just do it. Bigger box = less power handling.
-
Instead of all the questions, just buy the system and hook it up. It will work, it will be loud, its DC.
Box rise is unavoidable and sucks. EX: My current setup (Mojo 2500 Amplifier) wired to 1 ohm.
Rated at 2500rms at 1ohm. Clamped it at full tilt, box rise changed it to 2.2ohms and only put out 2200rms.
Not too bad considering it came up to 2.2, but what im getting at is you will almost never get your full
rated rms without wiring below 1ohm, which I DO NOT recommend.

If it helps, just installed 2 Lvl 4 12's in my jeep in a box with 3 net cubes, 6 inch aero port at 36hz, sounds great. Although, I would go smaller since your going to be pushing a good bit more power considering mine are on a Memphis Mojo 2500. Can't imagine how loud it will be once I turn the amp up, just waiting until I install my mechman 320a to avoid voltage drops.

Great looking design, as I would expect from DC.

Can't wait for mine to come in, such a unique piece of equipment. Keeping my fingers crossed that it gets here sometime next week.

Definitely like it, and your video proves it's usefulness Steve, but I just don't know where or how to mount it.
Edit: Ahh f**k it, bought one anyway, well worth it.
New DC Build question on amount of power a level 3 can take.

LOL your right, it is funny, not gona lie. If I had the money to blow to get a DC amp instead I would love to, hence my comment about how they are the best, I wasn't lying. I used to run all memphis stuff in the past so its just what I had to do my build. ( Memphis subs blow, had to get rid of them, would never buy again) This amp cost me $1000 and works just fine so I wasn't about to just replace it and spend more. Although... I would have no problem accepting a donation of a free DC amp to match my subs since you guys were so concerned ........3.5k please haha
