  1. Got my replacement recone yesterday. Got it all glued right now, just waiting for it to cure. Should be back to 100% by tomorrow!
  2. Yeah these doors on the one amp will keep up PLENTY with the two 15's. And I'm sure would hold up just fine to another two with two more amps once I put another Q4.90 on em. And thank you! I quite proud with how they came out. Especially for my first time doing doors, and my first time wrapping anything with vinyl. Just hope my door hinge pins and bushings hold up to the weight. Lol. And yeah. Fingers are crossed on the amp. I'm a little scared to test it. lol.
  3. Also, I'm a little worried. I recently bought 2 more 3500's, and I had them both sitting on top of my dresser. I guess one wasn't on all the way because in the middle of the night, my cat must have stepped on it where it was hanging off, and it fell about 4 feet onto the ground. I took off the back plate and there was a tiny bead of solder that was rattling around. Praying it didn't fuck something up from the fall. That would SUCK. Will be hooking it up to my test bench soon to find out.
  4. Got my doors mounted and playing! And my oh wow. They sound great! Each door is just on one channel of my Q4.90, so each speaker is only getting about 20 watts or so. But man they are loud and clear. Nice and punchy mid bass too actually. I was quite surprised. Also hooked up my A pillars. Was scared they were gonna be too harsh having 2 super tweets in each pillar, but again, those too are nice and clear and go really well with the doors. Very happy with how everything turned out not the best pics, but here are the doors mounted
  5. Both doors finished! Got my doors deadened some more, used damp rope to tame a lot of the rattles too. Ready to be installed tomorrow
  6. Thanks! Definitely did not go as easy as I thought it would. The first piece of vinyl I cut I messed up on and it was a little short. Tried to get it to work, but ended up tearing it all off. Got some 4 stretch vinyl from a teammate local to me and gave that a try. Went so much better. It was still kind of a pain to get it all to stick smoothly, but I agree that it turned out looking good. The shiny black glue you can see above the speakers is black E6000. when I cut the vinyl where it met the panel, you could see some body filler, and it wasnt sticking the best. Laid a bead of black E6000 along it and smoothed it with my finger and it made it look MUCH better. Got the second panel body filled, and going to go out and sand it in about an hour or so. Should be ready for vinyl tonight!
  7. Slowly making progress. Got one door almost done with body filler. Last coat of filler is drying now and then it will be ready for vinyl. Then to do it all again on the passengers door. Lol. Also, got two sets of soundqubed super tweets installed. Will have to wait till it's light out to get a good pic of those. But here's the one door thats almost ready for vinyl.
  8. Why wouldn't you be able to? It was about 20 degrees when I did that door and it worked out pretty good. Does it not work well in the cold?
  9. Still waiting on more ca glue so I can stretch the fabric over the passenger door. But I figured I'd start to fiberglass the drivers door while I wait. Got the resin laid down, cured, and then laid down the first layer of fiberglass. And I must say. I will NEVER buy a two part fiberglass resin ever again. The SMD Sunflash is so amazing. Can work on it however long you want, bring into sun, and it's set! Can't wait for these to be finished and playing!!!
  10. Made a little bit of progress on my doors today. Got the rings all mounted and glued to my panels. Test fit was very tight. There's barely any room behind the speakers, and between the speakers and seats. But I think I'll be able to get them to fit. Too late regardless! Now just gotta find a good way to stretch the fleece. But I'll save that for another day.
  11. Yeah I was pretty bummed. Was so excited to have bass again after about a month. At least I can get more reconing experience. Lol. What it seems like is one of the polarities of the coils were reversed. I put each coil on a dmm and they were all fine. But thinking one was reversed. Wasn't anything I did wrong. So he said he will make a new one for me. On a positive note, it was quite loud with 1 working sub. Lol Depends on how fast I can find some hdc4 motor and baskets, and get recones for them. Plan is 4 of the custom hdc4 15's on 4 3500's. I have all the amps, two of the 4 subs, got another Q4.90 for mids n highs, and I got 3 more sets of mids to put in. Next step is start on door panels for 4 6.5's in each. Got everything to do that, so may get started on that soon excited to try the sun flash
  12. Well, one of the recones only lasted a day something was reversed in the coil or something. Cut the recone out and prepping for a new recone that will be made soon
  13. A little bit more power came in the mail today . Two more Q3500's. So I'll eventually have 4 total
  14. Reconing two subs, hook them up, play fine at first, but about 30 min later get bad bottoming out noises..... FUCK. Hoping a spider just came loose or something
  15. Should be playing by the weekend! Got my spl audio recones today. Will look pretty badass with the carbon caps too! Also got some more power that will be here tomorrow
  16. Good advice above. You I'll need to run new speaker wire from your amp, to your speakers. The only thing going to your amp from your head unit is the RCA's and remote turn on.
