I've got a question and a point to debate. Same order. 1. Please explain your statement. 2. I have used a lot of amplifiers and crossover networks with subsonic filters. I cannot agree with you that the do the same. I may be incorrect on this, but I believe that most of them do not kill all frequencies below the set level, but just attenuate them by 12 or 24db or whatever they have listed in the specs on the subsonic. With a JL 1000/1, I can personally vouch for the fact that it kills the specific frequency and anything below it completely. (also, keep in mind that I am not attacking any amp in particular) I do not mean to come off combative with this, but full understanding will not be achieved until all questions are answered and any misconceptions are nullified...that really sounds like some Confucius stuff there.

Sorry, I meant to answer this earlier. The biggest three reasons that I am considering the JL's are this: 1. I am not sure of the distortion rating on the RF, I know the JL's are clean enough. 2. The subsonic filter on the JL is absolutely amazing IMO. 3. The regulated power supply should give me full power at 10-14.5v. I will pay for that in efficiency, since I will need about 600 amps to play on theJL's constantly where I believe that 300-400 will supply the RF, but on the other side of that, if my voltage drops to 12v for a bit, I will not lose out on power during that time. I had one amp refurbed and the test data sheet that came back with it showed it putting out 1290-1297 watts at impedances ranging from 1.5 to 4 ohm. So in all fairness, JL is underrated as well. I don't mean for it to come across like I asked for opinions and then argued with them. That is far from my intentions here. I am about 90% sure on getting the RF's, I just need to know what kind of distortion rate they have. Thanks again everyone.

Wow, I really appreciate the help. I think that the RF's are the way that I have been leaning. I cannot seem to find any actual specification in regard to the total harmonic distortion rating for the RF. Might anyone be able to give me a hint?

Greetings. Here is my dilemma, I am in the process of going for more power and I have a decision to make. I need your input. The battle is between four JL audio 1000/1 amplifiers or one RF T40001BD. Both directions have their advantages, and I am having trouble choosing. So, anyone who is familiar with both amplifiers could give me their input, I would appreciate it. Also, I'm not saying that money is not an object, because it is, but I do not want to consider cost in this situation. If the better choice will cost more, so be it, I will save up more $. Thanks.

Ok, First off, if I am duplicating a topic I'm sorry. I looked, searched, and did not find it. My question is this. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good legal download software/websites? I am perfectly ok with paying for music. I just want a site that actually has a selection. Napster sucks. They don't have a lot of the old school stuff, but they take forever to get new stuff too. Any tips will be appreciated. Thanks.

Here's what I have: 2 Kicker S15L7 - SOLD 1 Kicker XS50 - This is an old school cheater amp (I am sure that many of you know this type of amp). The birth sheet puts it just over 700 at 1 ohm. It has the Subwoofer x-over card (module) in it. 1 Kicker ZR120 - 2 channel amp that was used to push two sets of components. Has an MRX mid/treble card (module) in it. 1 Kicker X3I - 3-way crossover. This item is fully functional, but I chopped out a section of the mounting rail on one side to clear a brace when it was installed. 2 Kicker KQ5 - 5 band eq's. Amber/Green Illumination. 2 inputs, front/rear outputs. 1 Tsunami 1 farad cap - not much to say, pretty simple item 1 Power Acoustik 5 farad cap - digital voltage meter, blue neons and leds come on when active 1 old Punch 40 - SOLD 1 Soundstorm 100w 4ch amp - I do not know much about soundstorm, but I do not believe it is terribly high end item. 1 Pioneer CD/MP3 Player - SOLD 1 Pioneer sub in prefab Pioneer bandpass box - SOLD I am not really looking for specific trades, but will consider some mobile audio products but I have all JL and Diamond Audio in my vehicles now, and I would rather stay consistant. I am asking for offers (trades or $ or both) at the moment. Please be fair. I do not expect retail for anything, but these items are lightly used and in great shape so I am not really looking to give them away.
